Get a full 7/8 hrs of sleep at night, excercise or walk at least 30 minutes per day. Eat small, but frequent, meals to help keep your metabolism in high gear. Give up junk foods and sugar products...

But sometimes our bodies need help in getting the proper nutrition and that really helps too! I take it the reason your asking is because you want to lose weight? Or are you just tired all the time?

Great suggestions. I will only add to make sure you have breakfast. I was guilty of skipping breakfast because I didn't have time and eventually I felt I didn't need it.

I'm still not very hungry in the mornings but now I have a really fast option to get my metabolism going.

Strength training including cardio (biking, walking, running) at least 3 times a week. Building muscle increases your metabolism significantly because muscle burns more fuel than fat. Drink lots and lots of water, give up soda (including diet), sugar and starchy foods (bread, pasta, etc) (these foods spike your blood sugar and make you store fat and cause more hunger). Also eat 5-6 small balanced meals a day. Balanced means lean protein (fish, chicken breast, egg whites, tofu, protein supplement) and healthy carbohydrates (vegetables, brown rice, fruit, legumes) and healthy fats (nuts, olive oil, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, etc).

I have changed my body following this method. The worst thing you can do for your metabolism is not eat or go on a calorie restrictive diet, get your body used to burning and needing calories, instead of storing!

You can do it!

Cutting out white stuff....sugar and flour makes a world of difference. Studies now show that sugar is making more people "fat" than consuming fat does.

I have also been taking cayenne fruit tablets for a couple of months now...it's a very slow gradual benefit, but I do seem to be benefiting...boosting my metabolism and burning more fat.

Default Keep blood sugar level

The newest studies are showing that keeping blood sugar level throughout the day helps turn your body into a regular fat burning machine. Our new spokesperson, Mark Macdonald just came out with a best selling book on the subject called Body Confidence.

His program is supported by studies conducted by the National Institute of health.

Basically you need to be eating every 3 to 4 hours, some protein, some carb (high quality) and some fat...small meals.

If you eat too much and spike your blood sugar, your body stores excess as fat.

If you eat too little or go too long between meals, your body burns muscle to create the energy it needs.

this is an oversimplification but I think it gives you an idea of how the program works.

I'm going to post some things here that many will
jump on and say "BLASPHEMY"....but they are
backed by science.

1. Don't worry about eating X amount of small meals
per day. Science has shown that eating more
frequently does not improve your metabolism.

So do this instead: Eat until your a full...which means
you need to eat at a slow pace to give your stomach
time to tell you when you are full.

Think about it logically: Whether you eat 5 300 calorie
meals or 3 500 calorie meals, it takes the same amount
of energy to digest those meals.

2. Lift weights. Lift heavy weights. Don't pull out the
5 pound dumbbells and kinda go through the motions.
Push your muscles. Build lean muscle mass. Don't
be afraid of bulking...it doesn't happen that way.

3. Interval train once a week. Twice if you can, but at
least once a week.

4. Eat real food. Eat whole foods. Avoid unnatural,
processed, artificially sweetened, sugar loaded, chemically
created food. I've lost weight on both sides of the health
food isle (conventional diet vs. Primal/Paleo diet) so find
one that works for you. Stick with it. Cook all your meals
that you can. If you want to lose weight and keep it off
long term, learn how to feed yourself and fuel your body
the right way.
