Default Do You Use any Supplements - If So, What Have You Found to be Effective?

Hi Moms,

I was just curious if you use any supplements (I sure do) and which ones you have personally found to be effective.

(I love to read 'Women's World' and try out things that they suggest - you should see my cupboard! )

Right now, I'm using Nature's Way - Alive (multivitamin for women) - I can really notice a difference during 'that time of the month'.

Also, I really like New Nordic's - Mulberry Zuccarin (blocks sugar absorption) - it's been very helpful because, well, me and sugar go back a long way -

I'd love to hear what you have found that works for you...

Thanks!

I use supplements from procapslabs.com formulated by Andrew Lessman. I saw him on HSN {Home Shopping Network} years back and have purchased his products ever since. If he's ever on HSN check him out. Unlike most people who push a hard sell, Lessman actually educates his consumer. In fact, I watched him a number of times before I purchased a product. There are no fillers or unhealthy ingredients in his products and his plant is generated by solar power. He's the real deal.

Hi Ginseng Mom,

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question - I appreciate it!

I checked out Andrew Lessman's website and was surprised to find out that the prices of his supplements were really reasonable. I had seen him before on HSN and somehow had gotten the idea that his products were too spendy (but, I really never checked them out).

I actually did see something that I had been looking around for...energy supplements. (Can't we all use some extra energy as moms?) So, I might actually order some of his products.

Thanks again!

(I'm always on the lookout for something new and healthy).

Take care,

Gail

Judging by my personal; experience all the supplements are useless.
And God bless many of them are just harmless and can't ruin our health. So I don't use any supplements at all - everything we need is in raw food.

Default I like Usana's

Let me state that......I am not a distributor for this company; however, I personally use USANA vitamins. With all the research out there we have seen, they are supposed to be the best.
I'm sure their are distributors from many wellness companies on here that could give you information on their supplements.

Good luck and stay healthy

Hi Andr117:

As a juicer, I agree that what we need is natural raw food. The reality is that most people eat processed foods and don't juice. It's also true that most of the supplements on the market are not only useless but dangerous as well. That combined with the stressful lives we lead, most of us need at least some supplements to our deficient diet.

Andrew Lessman is, as I said, 'the real deal'. He's a chemist and understands things on a molecular level. In fact, he started his business because of the misrepresentations he found in this industry. I've watched him a number of times on HSN educating the consumer. Hopefully one day we won't need supplements. But, if you're not juing, not eating organic and having a diet full of processed foods and meals made from bleached flour a good supplement like the ones Andrew Lessman provides might just help.

I've taken vitamins and supplements my whole life.
Several brands.

I use ViSalus multi's and omegas alternated with another fish oil plus I take extra D, extra calcium/mag/zinc and extra C.

I definitely feel much better and much more energy ON the vitamins!

Not a mom here, but I love Shakeology (I do promote it, but I wouldn't if I didn't love the product) - -I also liked xtreme lean (can get it at Krogers for under $20, way better than hydroxycut - it's next generation Ephedrine Caffeine Aspirin Stack, w/out the Ephedrine.. uses Synephrine instead), I have stopped taking it recently cause it makes me a little shaky, and Shakeology has helped increase my energy, instead I do take some green tea to provide a little pick me up.

I also take fish oil, and a multi-vitamin.

I use a TON of supplements. I don't always get them every day but I ALWAYS try to get my multi, CO Q10, K1, DHEA & C everyday. The diet pills are pretty much a scam. I do use Creatine for my workout though so that I can lift heavier. This way I can look more curvy as well as eat a cheat meal like pizza without having to do a bunch of cardio. The added muscle takes care of my metabolism.
