Default Looking for a Fitness Workout Program

Greeting Everyone,

I have been looking around for a while and just join the WAHM board. I just recently gave birth
(8 weeks ago) and now finally ready to start a workout program. I gained almost 38 lbs during this pregnancy and so far I lost 18 lbs.

Before baby I ran 3 miles 3 time a week, during pregnancy I did Spin Classes until 6 months. Then my Doctor advised me to take it easy and just walk. Okay, I did manage to jogged for 1 mile last week. It was awful, so I am looking for a workout program (cardio).

I saw the commerical for the Beach Body Products and trying to decide which way to go.
Anyone using the "P90x" or the "Insanity" workout program?

I am motivated to get started.

Hi,

My husband and I did P90x together 2 summers ago (I think?) and I'm starting it again today. I LOVE IT! It is really, really intense, but it produces results like now (very quickly), especially if you eat healthy and/or follow the eating plan that's included. That's why I like it so much.

I haven't tried Insanity, but I just went through Chalean Extreme. CE is a good program, but I didn't really get the overall results I wanted. I gained a LOT of strength (more than I ever thought I had!), which is always a plus, and I lost *some* body fat, but I didn't get as toned as I thought I would/wanted to. I think I was lifting a little too heavy for my body type and what my goals were. That's why instead of doing the CE maintenance, I'm going back to the program that I know will give me the results I want.

I've tried other BB products and really, I've liked them all. I have Slim in 6 and Slim in 6 Express and I like both of those as well.

This probably didn't help at all...lol.

Good luck with whichever one you decide to try! I think as long as you do the workouts and eat well, you'll do just fine with either.

Default P90x

I just completed my 90 days of P90X on Saturday last week. I loved the program. I highly recommend it. I was always a runner, did the stair master, and other things at the gym but P90X really changed things for me. I lost 12 pounds.

I am going to train for the Pat Tillman run that takes place in Phoenix on April 17 and then start Insanity from Beachbody.

Good luck and all I know is you need to change it up if you truly want to see results.

Thanks for the info! Well, I decided to start with Slim in 6. I am going to purchase it today.
Congrats Lesley on completing the P90x and good luck on the Pat Tillman run!

Thanks
Andrea

You cannot go wrong with Slim In 6.

Beachbody has a lot of other workouts as well
that may fit your goals later on.

I'm about to complete my second round of P90X.

I did one round last year, had great results, slacked
the rest of the year, gained weight/fat back, and
decided that 2010 was going to be the year I really
get into shape.

So after this round of P90X, I'm going to Insanity.

Everything I've read from others about it is that it
will burn the fat...which is my first and primary goal.

I'm blogging about my progress with P90X and will
continue with Insanity. It helps with accountability
as well as gives me something to look back on.

Keep us updated on how Sim In 6 goes for you!

Brent

Slim in 6 is an extremely popular work out. You can always go for P90X after Slim in 6. I have done a couple rounds of P90X and a round of Insanity and I have to say that P90X is my favorite. If you are looking for some extreme cardio then Insanity is the way to go. Very tough. If you are looking for more resistance then P90X is the way to go.

I have been using a program called T-Tapp. It was developed by a women named Theresa Tapp. It is excellent and it really works.
