I was told by someone that when we are supposed to drink water it has to be pure water...no mixers???
I hate the taste of water and it would be awesome if iced tea or coffee counted as water...does it?? So if iced tea , kool-aid, coffee...doesnt count as our water intake then what makes adding chrystal light or flavoring to our water count? I would be in great shape if I didnt have to drink pure water... Thanks

I tend to drink more water when I have a large "glass" - still use my hospital issued water jug from the birth of my last baby 5 years ago!

I aim for between 85-100 oz a day for water...really. They say 1/2 our bodies are water as we get over 30 so aiming for 1/2 your body weight is good (there are other things that factor in too but it gives you a good idea). If you do some decent cardio it helps you drink more too.
As for Crystal Light...be careful...that stuff is laced with aspartame (same stuff in diet coke). That stuff's dangerous! Don't take my word for it though, check out Aspartame Dangers Revealed!. I mention this not as spam ok--I've suffered from aspartame poisoning for years and you cannot imagine how great you feel once you get that crap out of your system. Dr. Janet Hull operates that website. Trust me it's a must-read. |

Hi, Everyone
I just joined and I'm happy I can give you some info. 8 ounces of fat-free milk or 1% milk, fruit juice, herb tea, decaffeinated coffee or tea, juice count for a full glass of water. 8 ounces of black or green tea, caffeinated sodas, iced tea, coffee count for a half glass of water. 8 ounces of alcoholic drinks don't count for water .

I love water. I drink at least four glasses of water. They are flavored water available too if you don't like the taste of water.

Coffee isn't considered water as it's actually a diuretic and does the opposite of water. If you drink a lot of coffee in the morning, try drinking even more water the rest of the day. I'm sure you've noticed how thirsty you are after drinking a large cup of coffee.
