You know, I must admit I am so glad to not have this problem any more because it was a true weakness. One bag of candy used to be all we needed for the treaters (not many would come down to the end of our street) and we'd only give out half of that... if that. But did I buy just one bag? Oh heck no - what if there were more kids this year for some reason?
This year I chose to not hand out treats and the boys and I went off in search of a fall festival. They are now 14 and 15, a little too old to be trick or treating. It seems like the fall festivals this year were toned down a bit and not as fun as they had been. They were geared more towards to allowing the little ones having fun, which is great, but it does leave out the teens
SO - we chose to go see a movie at the spur of the moment. Went to the theater and nothing seemed to interest us (oh great), then went to the cheapie movie theater. Oh it had Harry Potter, G-Force, GI Joe, etc... TONS of cool looking movies. We walk up to the ticket booth only to find a very limited number of movies showing at this particular time. NONE were our first choices... then something caught my eye. "Fame" - now I remember this movie from the first time around. It was fabulous! I suspected the boys would groan but I talked them into seeing it. "Trust me" I said....
Well, they loved it! It's not exactly a re-make of the original, but more like the original brought up to modern day times. Amazing movie that I would not mind seeing a few more times... not to mention finding the sound track of! Now the boys want to check out the original movie for a little comparison. I am sure they will relate to the newer one, but I suspect they will appreciate the original one once they see it.
