Here is a great reference book regarding Aromatherapy for animals/ it touches on Dogs, Cats, and others as well. We must be VERY cautious with them, especially very small animals and cats.
Holistic Aromatherapy for Animals: A Comprehensive Guide to the Use of Essential Oils & Hydrosols with Animals by Kristen Leigh Bell You can pick one up at Amazon or lots of other places. Hope you had good luck with your flea problem! |

My girls are shih tzus and tolerate the oils well. I've been using lavender oil with water in a spray bottle on them. It works amazing. Turns out they have a flea and food allergy. So they are still itchy. But we are working on it. I have eliminated the food issue now on to the flea issue.
ETA: I have just been doing some looking around and have discovered many stories of dogs getting ill and dying after the use of Tea Tree Oil whether diluted or neat. I think I will look for another oil to use, as I don't want to take the chance with my girls. Last edited by lorah; 02-13-2013 at 03:26 AM. |
