Authorities say teen admitted to attack after parents turned him in


A spokesman for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department told WLWT.com the teen was arrested after his parents brought him to the sheriff's office. The boy admitted to the allegation, sheriff's officials said.

The girl told authorities that the boy sexually assaulted her at the play area inside a McDonald's restaurant on Beechmont Avenue in Anderson Township. The suspect had reportedly climbed into the play equipment to reach the girl, who was at the restaurant with her grandmother on Oct. 29, according to media reports.

Deputies released surveillance photos of the suspect to local media on Wednesday in an effort to identify him. The spokesman said the teen's parents saw the photos and contacted authorities on Thursday, according to WKRC TV in Cincinnati.

The sheriff's office said the teen has been charged with one count of rape and will be held at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center pending further proceedings.

The McDonald's franchise owner told WLWT he was cooperating with authorities.

"The safety and well-being of my customers, especially children, is extremely important," Judson Pickard said in a statement.

I don't believe it! I used to work with child sexual offenders, and I've heard some awful stories, but this one takes the cake. I hope everyone involved is able to rehab and move on with their lives in a healthy way.

where the hell was the grandmother while this 5yr old child was being raped?? I mean really?? So many things wrong with this story, it's horrible Kudos to the parents for turning that kid in, that could not have been easy.

I read this the other day.

Sickening. This is why people should never leave their children unsupervised. I just don't understand!!! I never take my eyes off of my 6 year old, we go out and play together. I will never understand parents that leave children on their own.

I was driving back from Ohio with my 6yr old and my 8 and 12 year old nieces. When we were in TN I stopped at a gas station so the 8yr old could use the restroom. I went with all 3 of the girls, we always stayed together. Thank God I did because I opened the bathroom door for the ladies room (which was outside around the building) All 3 girls standing there with me and there was a man standing there...outside of the stall...pants and undies around ankles, facing us, doing something I can't say here but it was gross. I grabbed the girls and we ran to the car, locked the doors and took off to the Mc D's and I called the police. Could you imagine what would have happened if I sent them alone and just watched from the car????

That bathroom story is very scary.

How does a child at 13 know about those things? I wonder if he was abused himself when he was younger? Again, these are the times when I am so glad my daughter is 22 and I don't have to worry about her being a little girl anymore.
