Sunflower, which kit are you going to start with?

Jessielee, the 1950 Girl Calendar and the Obama calendars are square. But they don't always let you do those. They post on their website the ones that they need to be done. Right now it looks like they need the Theodore Roosevelt and FDR calendars. They don't always need every kind to be made. You might be able to call and ask for a square one and see what they say.

I am currently working on a kit from a real legitimate home assembly company called New England Crafters. I will post my experiences with them in the near future.

I tried several kits from them last year, it is 99.999% IMPOSSIBLE to do any of these perfectly, and I am sure they know this. I first tried their book project, twice, as careful as i was the pages kept coming out uneven and the books wouldn't stay closed. I sent a sample to them, but they claim they never got it. Admittedly I sent it to the attention of one of their staff and not labelled "Sample", still they should have gotten it. After that fiasco I tried their dairy set (milk carton, cream cheese and one other box which i forgot), again it was damn near impossible to make these at all, so I returned it for one last try, the Game Board. It took me two weeks to make it, and again they rejected it. Not surprisingly, as one of the items was a heaxagonal marker which measured 1/8" and had to be cut out of the paper sheet, and once again was impossible to get perfect. They also said I had stapled the bag closed wrong, though by the time I got to stapling the bags was probably too frustrated to read the instructions. I demanded my refund in full (they require a $50 "deposit" and if you decide not to complete the project you only get half your deposit back) or I would report them to consumer affairs. They responded by saying they did not like to be blackmailed and I only sent them junk. I wrote back telling them i did not like to be ripped off and they know damn well it's impossible to make these things perfectly. I never did get my refund, and with all the fees for replacing projects and postage I must have lost about $100 on this "money-making" scheme.

And I never did contact any consumer department or BBB, too busy trying to make back the lost money elsewhere.
are you still with new england crafters, any luck making money ? thanks..i'm new here.

Tiny Details is legit, if that's what you're asking. Not everyone is capable of doing crafts for money. The items do have to be perfect, as the company that pays you has to sell them. If you're stuff is not perfect, they can't pay you for it because they will never be able to sell it to get their money back or make a profit on it.

If you are considering working with Tiny Details, be prepared to practice before you can start making money. You have to practice, make a perfect sample, send it in, get an approval, finish your kit (perhaps order additional materials before you can finish it), have your kit inspected and pass, then you will get paid. If your kit doesn't pass, you will get it back and you have to fix it. This can take months... many people are just not that patient. But it pays off for those who stick with it and get it right.

Sweet sunshine,

You forgot to write about limited tries and supplies. It's impossible to practice enough as TD doesn't provide enough materials and they don't sell them. You can't make copies and dublicate them also. You can't practice with blank piece of paper... it just doesn't work. Samples are approved almost every time and most people get very good evaluations on them. But there is a different story when you try to get approved on a kit. Just wait until you get approved, you are my hope! Good luck!
