Hello everyone!!!

I know that I have been gone for a while now.....I am still with TD and I am still getting paid for my work. It is nice to see people having some success with this company. Remember that you must find projects that work for you; if tiny objects is not your niche, then it is just not. That is okay. There are other companies out there that you can work with. Stay positive everyone!!! I just wanted to drop in and say hi to you all. If any of you ever have any questions just send me an instant message and I will reply.

Happy Crafting!!!

Default hello my new WAHM family

Hi, My name is Mayra..... (sounds like Mira). I am very excited about getting involved with doing crafts at home. My 13 year old daughter is so dissapointed that she has to wait to be 15 defore she can get a job. she has begged me to allow her to help make crafts at home. (I also work at home on the phones. sometimes I'm stuck without a call anywhere between 2-5 minutes). While doing my research on which company to go with, my daughter saw the projects that they have on Tiny Details.......she instantly fell in love. She especially fell for the Chinese Takeout set. I also agree that it looks like it could be fun to do.

IS THERE ANYONE WHO HAS MADE THE CHINESE TAKEOUT SET??
Does anyone think that that this is a set that is to hard? Is there anyone who would think we'd be better off trying a different project?

The next thing that has me worried is the business itself. I know that there are pros and cons to every business, but I would really like some honest answers as to the time span it takes to get a project and receive a check. Is this a company that most feel they can rely on.

Thanks for any help and advice

I have not done the Chinese Takeout set, but I think it is fairly hard to do (hard to do perfectly, which is what it will take to get paid). I would recommend starting with something more simple (like a calendar kit) and getting the hang of Tiny Details and how they operate that way.

My experience has been that they are legitimate, but somewhat frustrating to work with. It takes weeks to get your kit after you order it, then weeks again if you need to order more supplies. If you get approved after you send in your sample, your kit may not be accepted once you finish it and send it in. They will send it back to you for corrections.

This is where having a more simple project becomes important. When you get the kit back and it's a simple project, they may have just one or two things for you to fix (you may need to order more supplies again because they don't send more when they send back the kit = weeks again of waiting). If you have a more complex kit like the Chinese Takeout kit, there could be many areas where your project needs correction and essentially you could end up having to start all over instead of just having a few tweaks here and there.

Working on Tiny Details projects is fun. It just takes a lot of patience to deal with the company itself.

Default Thanks SweetSunshine

SweetSunshine,
Thank you so much for that information. From all that I read it sounds to me like TD is a legitamate company. But (no offense intended for anyone that works for TD) It's important for me to go with a company that is both legitamate and easy to work with/ work for. As with any company be it work at home or in a B&M, when you first start the job, it takes time to learn the system and the way that your (for less words) Boss wants things done. After a while you get used to the stream of the company, and you start to produce faster work. If I work at home for a customer service company and they are going to pay me vie how much talk time I have, yet their system keeps crashing, not allowing me to take calls..... I'm not going to make money. Same goes for a crafting company. Although the company may be full of great people, If it takes me weeks on end before I can see one paycheck, that's not going to pay my bills.

Here's something you all might want to keep your eyes on:
Intense research

Hi,

I think sometime make our orders from a resource where we had a trust but also, sometime we get totally different stuff from the thing we needed.

Also, such tiny details have to be exactly what we want for our project so that to start the proceedings of our work or our project.

Thanks!!

I have not tried the chest, but I talked to Dixie about it. She said you have to create a stencil, then trace around it onto the wood with a pencil, then cut it out with the craft knife. Seems to me like that would not be a good starter project, although I have to admit I would like to try it one day.

Personally, I think the calendars are one of the best projects to start with.
