Is anyone currently working for tiny details? I saw they had an unsatisfactory rating with the bbb but looks like they had tried to resolve complaints. I would love to hear if anyone is currently working for them and getting paid.Edited by: sarahjanah

I ordered the oriental set and received it in the mail yesterday. So far I've noticed that their assembly instructions don't give good enough instructions. They should have mentioned that the paper needs to be scoared at the folds.[ The process of scratching the paper with a streight edge and pin on all the fold lines to create a crease for the perfect fold.] Anyone that doesn't know about scoaring would have a nightmare of a time trying to get a perfect fold which is mandatory for their items. Anyway, I'll keep you up to date on my business with them.

Dear all

As my bad luck, I decided to try Tiny Details before I know this webboard. I ordered "The American money set" from Tiny Details last 3 week. My job is that I have to cut the American billsinto size 0.51"x0.21" in EXACTLY THE SAME SIZE every bills!! If I can do, I will get $50 per 100 sets. When I got the stuff, I have no idea how the human can do even though you use magnifying glass!

Ok, I tried to do it as best as I can. It wasn'ttoo hard to cut it sharp butit'sincredible to cut it inexactly the same size because the border of each bills was very blur and not clear at all.I sent them my samples to let them evaluate. 1 week later, I get my evaluated report from them. These are what they said;

All of the American money bills should be the same size and should be rectangles with straight sides. Remember that the only thing that matters is the fronts of the bills. Too much of the lightly colored borders of the bills have been cut off. Some of the bills were crooked.

After I get this report, I suddenly know Tiny Details is the potential scam! Now I decide to return the stuff to get my deposit back. I don't know what else I have tofight toTiny Detailsin order to getmy money back. Otherwise, I have to let the credit card company help me claim.

Update:You'll want to read this!!!

I started my Kit tonight and had trouble making the chop stick packets. It was difficult to glue them perfectly without any whitepaper backing showing at the seems. I inspected the sample they sent me and apon very close inspection discovered their sample was made from an intirely differant pattern making theirssamples easy to make and mine impossable. Their pattern started as a paper tube. Mine was a tiny strip

My kit is designed to fail! If you think about it, they send you a kit for $50.00; design it to be impossable to assemble flawlesslyto their specifications; refund anyone that gives up half ofyour deposit back and ends up making $22.00 off of everycustomer. Thekit itself only consists of about$1.00 worth of materials; Plus $2.00 to mail the kit to you. Definetly a scam! A cleaver one though>

Okay, here's my update. against my better judgement and the advice of others i did order the kit awhile back for the victorian calling cards. I didn't even bother sending a sample in. I probably would have made about 50 cents an hour if i even got my work approved. I did get my 50 percent refund back. It took a couple of emails and about 2 weeks but i did get it.

I'm new to these boards, but I, too, chose to try Tiny Details against my better judgement. I worked for Cottage Industries for nine years and had a very good experience with them. I've made hundreds of miniature books for them. (paper backs, and hard cover books with dust jackets) Anyway, I thought it would be the perfect thing for me to do. My first bunch of books was rejected, they said I did an overall good job, but some of the pages were cut on aslant, and they saw no other problems with my books. So I carefully went through them and fixed 22 of them that I thought they might find objectional (with a magnifying glass) lol! ,sent them back in and got them back with all sorts of problems. The pages were still cut on a slant, meaning the pages at thebackof the book were were wider than the pages at the front, they said they were not centered in the spine, and the dust covers were loose on some of them. They said they would extend my time by a month to send them back in, but I have given up on them. Yes, they are a big SCAM, and a very convincing and elaborate one. It really hurts my pride and integrity plus my pocketbook.

P.S. In case you are wondering Cottage Industries have ceased working right now, the owner-manager is ill and the business has come to a standstill.

Stay Away From Tiny Details!

I posted my experiences, none of them good, in another folder. I also should mention that it can take several weeks to complete a project, at which point you would be earning less than slave labor wages for your efforts, IF you got paid at all. Figure at most to earn about $1/hour.

Oh and they took a comment i had made in an email and used it as a testimonial on their site, without my permission.
