Lightbulb NEC vs. Crafts to Cash??

I'm looking to get started on making crafts at home. I have been through all of the posts here and I still haven't quite found the answers I have been looking for:

1. What craft are working on? With what company?
2. How long does it take to make each craft? How many can you make a week?
3. How much do you earn per month from the crafting?

I've been reading a lot of general or generic responses to these questions. Please be as specific as possible. There are lots of us newbies looking to get our feet wet, but we can't find the info we're looking for.

I would have responded to your questions sooner....but don't go to WAHM very often....sorry. I have been working w/Nec since early 2008. I'm a REAL person and they are a REAL company. Do like I and the rest of us NEC crafters did....read everything in their website....everything they say is really exactly like it is. Once you order a starter kit for the craft of your choice then you complete just one item and submit it to them for approval. It takes some people 2 or 3 tries and some as many as 5 or 6 tries to get approved....they need to have the craft made correctly in order to be able to sell it, which is what they do. We make the craft and they sell it. Once you are approved they reimburse you for the postage getting completed items to them and furnish all the supplies needed to complete the order. After you have completed a certain number of your chosen craft, they will reimburse your starter kit money. Its hard to answer some of your questions because all crafters are different....some things are easy for one person to make and hard to another...so its an individual thing. The same w/how much you can earn, how fast you can complete something, etc.....very individual.
AGAIN.....read their website completely....they answer all of your questions there. Also, please call NEC with any further questions that you might have. They have a great staff that are very friendly and helpful and are always happy to speak w/you.

I have a friend that is making a forum just about crafting. She is in the process of getting all the information on it now. As soon as she has it ready if she will let me I will post the link or you will be able to pm for it. I know she plans on having lots of information plus private folders for people assembling for different companies and information on how to get started selling your own crafts.

As for which company is better well I think it's a matter of what you like to do. NEC has jewelry project and regular craft projects. Crafts4Cash the projects are of a bigger size than NEC. I have worked both companies and my personal preference is NEC but in all actuality it's a pretty close race.

Default Very interesting

mbsgirl, the forum your friend is making about crafting sounds very interesting! If she is willing, I would be very interested in you sharing the link when it is ready.

Crafting has always been an interest of mine, and several years ago I made a little extra income on the side by selling my crafts to help out when my children were little. It's something I would like to get back into, so I'm in the process of researching. Thanks for your input!

Sounds great Char77! I have talked to her and as soon as she has the forum ready she said I can post the link for it. should be in about a week or two. She making folders now and then going to add information. I got to see it the other day and it looks like it will be a fun forum for crafting discussions.

Yeah I think it will be great. I know she is working on it and hoping to have it up and running in a week or two. I will make a post once it's online for people to sign up.
