I decided to start this post just because we have SO many separate posts about NEC. Thought it would also be easier if we can keep it all in one post to make sure we can answer or help everyone. Some posts are getting missed because there are so many. (I don't mean to step on anyone's toes here, just thought it might help) I guess when this one gets too long, we can start another ONE! LOL

So, if it concerns anything with NEC or magical gift...please try to post it here!!Edited by: justmeuc

Hi!

I haven't done any NEC projects yet. I live in same state they are in- CT. It's a hours drive from me(New Haven)

Maybe I could visit NEC in person & see some actual hands on crafting by the source!

LeighaMarie go to the official NEC forum and you will have to read a few post to find out who passed first time. Someone on the forum mentioned they passed first time.Maybe get the DVD and see if that will help.

I tried the toe ring, the cone frustrated me too much.

As for the tiny bow, I had trouble tying it too.Icut the ribbon a little longer than it said too, tied it nice and then trimmed the excess ribbon off to be simpliar to the sample. My little bag did pass inspection doing that.

Too bad I couldn't figure out to get than ribbon not be too lumpy or not use "too much" glue.

sojourn_fan are you making any other crafts for NEC? Well I just finished my sheep and boy it does look like it had a hair do. I also ordered the DVD but felt it never helped that much. So will not pass. I feel I ordered the wrong craft and should have gotten something better to make.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but, someone else mentioned their's looked frizzy after doing it too....so, maybe you could usean electric hair trimmer to trim the fuzz? Or, maybe call them and see if they can give you any tips? I thought about doing the sheep, but after hearing everyone say about wrapping the wool, I decided against it. I might try the gingerbread boy and the sitting poodle magnet if i ever pass my other inspections....still waiting to hear.

Inel, sorry your sheep isn/t working out for you. I was wondering about that wrapping and stuff. Does anyone know if the penquin is wrapped like that or is it made from felt? He is cute too. I am working on the drum now. My first try was returned saying it was too bad of shape they couldn't even critique it. My drum and their sample were flat as a pancake! I thought I wrapped them good with bubblewrap but it didn't work. Now I have a flat sample to work from. i got a tip though to send them in a tp roll. So will try again!
