Has anyone ever done the clay snowman? It looks pretty straightforward. What's involved in it? What would I have to purchase aside from the starter kit?

hi Guailhaven--I have made the clay snowman--he really is cute--I am ready to send in my second try for approval--you will need to buy some 3-D paint (three different colors--black and two bright colors of your choice)--you will also need some wire cutters (or strong scissors) toothpicks, yarn needle and glue gun. You have to make the snowman, his hat and asmall lollipop and a candy cane out of the clay. After baking you paintthem and put the glitter on. you also have to make a little flag with the words merry xmas on it. I found this the hardest because it needs to be neat and small!!!!! thelollipop and flaghavewire attached to them. It is really not too hard to make and is really cute when finished. If you want to know more you can PM me anytime. McSue

Guailhaven--I forgot--you also have to make the arms out of the white wire (you paint them and put glitter on them too) and the attach the candy cane to one arm and the lollipop and banner to the other arm and them attach them to the snowman--In order to do this you need to make holes in the clay snowman before you bake it- you also have to make a hole in the hat before baking so that you can put the gold thread thru it for hanging. Good luck McSue

this is not about the snowman, but I believe you paint poke a dot circles for the magnets with a paint brush and not with the fine tip pen.Edited by: olga12

I think for a 3rd projectI may go for a clay project!I am really ahead of myself since I haven't even received the first 2 projects yet. The snowman sounds fun. I really love crafting. I was a Big Yellow Box consultant until they shut down. It was the best and most successful business I have ever had and it broke my heart when I got the horrible letter about them shutting their doors. I had finally thought I had found "THE ONE" and then it got taken away. I haven't crafted since because I was so mad at them for taking my love of crafting away from me. I think I am ready to get back in the game.......if my kits would just get here LOL.

Thanks so much McSue!!!!! That's perfect. I am going to go ahead and order the kit and go from there. BTW the name is QuailHaven, but no one ever gets that it's a Q and not a G... I've been thinking about registering a new name anyway just because we don't have quails anymore!

Hi Quailhaven,
I am approved on the Clay Snowman. McSue is right he's not to hard, he just has many pieces to him, but they are not to hard. I've been making him now for 2 years and really enjoy it. Im glad there are a few ladies trying to get approved on him.
