Hi, I tried to answer the pm you sent me but I get a message telling me that you can't receive pm's. To answer your question though accounts are activated on Thursday nights. You should be able to log in on their forum tomorrow. And I have been with NEC as a IC for 5 years. I did however take a year off to work on some other things.

Question Needs dot help please!!

Hello friends! I am new to NEC and I've been working on my sitting poodle and scottie dog test samples the past few days and I can't seem to get the dots to look as perfect as the sample they sent me! I found these daubers at Micheal's that make good looking circles but they're just a little bit off from being perfect. I've already tried free handing them but I couldn't get the dots to look even half way decent. On both samples they sent me, the dots are kind of thick for paint, and they have kind of a sandpaper texture. How do I do it? There's gotta be a better way! Please help!!!! I'm also new WAHM.COM and don't know how to do a search within a thread, so if someone could tell me how to do that (if it's even possible), that would be great! Thank you!

I use the Loew Cornell Style Stix - I bought them at Hobby Lobby....and can also be purchased on the internet. They come in a set of 4 sizes for around $6 - $7. I use the second from the largest, which will make the finished polka dots the size of a cd center hole - which is the size that NEC wants. They have round, firm, dome shaped sponge tips and are made just for making circles and dots. They work beautifully and are very fast....the edges are perfect each time. I just drop a drop or two of paint where I want the polka dot then holding the handle of the Stix straight up and down mash the sponge dome carefully into the paint and it spreads out to the size you want. When I have finished making all the dots on a board, I spoon glitter over the dots (completely covering them) and flip the board over tapping on the back w/my finger to shake the excess glitter back into my glitter bowl. I then set the board aside to dry, preferably over-night and repeat the process again on the next. This is a quick process and you should have perfect circles each time. I found some small plastic bottles that have long small opened tips and makes dropping the paint much easier than straight from the bottle it comes in. You might want to practice on some paper before you try on the boards until you feel confident in the method.
PORTISHEAD, I found this post for you, hope it help with your dots. Good Luck!

Once you have paid for a starter kit you don't have to pay anything more, except for the postage returning the completed craft, during the approval process. Then after you have gotten approved you will be reimbursed for postage when you fill an order and they will supply everything to you. When you purchase another kit....then you have to pay the starter kit fee for that kit and each starter kit thereafter. Read everything on their website...they explain this all to you. At some point in time, after you have made a certain number of items you will receive a refund of your starter kit money.

Some of this will be changing in the near future however so I would not hold to it as definite information.

What happened to the NEC Forum? The link says it does not exist and it also is not on their website any longer.
