Have you called them and asked if they have gotten it? It could have gotten lost in the mail?

Garnetgirl,

You haven't gotten your sample yet? I don't think it takes this long for you to hear anything. I would give them a call and see if they even received it and if they did, where is it? The people at NECwere nice to me,on the phone, when I had some questions. So yeah, give them a call.......Sharon

Garnetgirl - I'd call or email. This has happened to me. And in both instances I had passed. But when I called I was told "it might be lost in the mail, send another..." Since it happened once before on my snowman:

Fiber Snowman - mailed 3rd attempt on 9-17...hadn't heard anythingwithin the usual 2wksturn-aroundso I called 10-10 and was told I had passed. Also on my penguin...Mailed 2nd attempt on 10-18...nothing for 2 weeks then I started to wonder what happened?!?! So I called...and get the "make another one", "maybe it got lost in the mail" well I figured it was still on someone's desk and I decided to wait until it showed up...instead of making another one...it did, I had passed.

This also happened to another crafter on this board recently. Hey have you check the list of approved crafters, you never know your name might be there...mystery solved!

So maybe not hearing from them is good news, it was in both my cases.
I might email 1st, I got a response same day and they seem so rushed busy on the phone..I'm thinking the Holiday Rush is hitting them hard especially so close to Thanksgiving. But they've always been sweet peas on the phone just busy. Good Luck.

Okay I sent my drum off yesterday so I hope I pass I think it looked very close to the one they sent me except for the different things they gave me. I could not see any glue so I am now just waiting. They said to send a 9x12 envelope but I could not find one they did not even have any at the post office so I sent a 10x13 I hope that will work. So do the types of projects change a lot during the year? I noticed a lot of Christmas type ones but do they always have Christmas ones or do they change with the season? I am so excited I think once I pass on this one I will order another one so I do not get burned out on one. I hope those bells stay on that is what I am the most worried about when I got my sample all the bells had fallen off so I hope I did better at packing than they did.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

astro769 - I have not tried the drum. I love the scottie magnet and I find it is not that hard to make. The poodle skirt I just recently passed and started making my first 10 still to be mailed off. I will PM you. I do not always have time to come to the forum but will try if you have questions.

Ksager - you might have passed the drum and that why it is taking so long. I would call them to find out what has happened. Two mths passed before I knew I passed the poodle skirt. Would have called earlier to find out what happened to poodle skirt but was kept busy with all the magnets. Good luck on drum.

garnetgirl,
I had the same thing happen. It was about a month and I hadn't received any of the 3 sample kits back, I had mailed all 3 in the same box, so I was sure it was lost in the mail. I was told it could be lost in the mail or it could be on someone's desk for final approval. I was also told to wait until the following week and if nothing showed up that I would probably need to send in another sample for each. As it turned out, my name showed up on the list and I had passed on all 3. So hopefully that is where yours is at. Crossing my fingers for you that you passed also...

I'm trying the scottie magnet. I'm getting ready for my third try, any suggestions on how to cut the foam "neat". That is pretty much the only thing that is keeping me from passing. Any suggestions for another kitbeg that is good for first timers?

I finally mailed in my sheep today and I'm working on another sample since they generally don't pass the first time around. Thanks for the tip about checking the website to see if wemade producer status. I'll give them2 weeks to inspect my sample before contacting them about it.

I finally got my sample back. Maybe they were just busy with the holiday. Anyway, I didn't pass. But, I didn't think I would. This was only my first try. Now that I have a little more to go on, I will try again!

Okay I just ordered the little drum kit today. From what I have seen on this forum it looks to be the easiest one to start with? Anyway, I am pretty excited about it. Just had to say that
