I've been super busy and haven't gotten around to working on my fiber penguin yet or really checking in as much as I would like to see how everyone is doing. But hopefully I'll get my ducks back in a row soon and get started on my penguin. I'm still waiting to hear back on my 2nd snowman attempt but it hasn't been that long. Nanc

I ordered my tropical bird houses on Mon. (last Mon.) - I was surprised to get them in the mail today. I also ordered the DVD. I was inspired by all the other crafters. Tomorrow I hope to get my spackle. I will keep you all posted. Thank you for the inspiration and information

Hi Ladies, I got my kitty magnet back yesterday! It took 2 weeks and 1 day, so not too bad. I did not pass, BUT...there were only very minor errors. I hope to make another one and get it sent in asap!

Brazil820...it's good that there wasn't anything major wrong. The next one will hopefully be the one.

I got my drum kit in the mail the other day and have since sent in my 1st sample for that. I'm now waiting to hear about the reindeer, the penguin, the magical birds and now the drum. Hopefully at least one of these goes through, but I'm thinking it won't be the penguin. I'm still having issues on how to actually wrap that wool, but we'll see what they say.

I mailed off my bird house today. The whole thing was a learning process. But, I look forward to the critique, too figure out where to go with the next sample.

Ruschele, good luck on all of your projects. With that many in the works your chances of passing are high! I'm crossing my fingers for you. I have received my penguin kit, but haven't started working on it. I can't wait for some free time to get started, the sample they sent is so cute. I want to keep him for myself . That little hat is adorable. I hope it's easier to make than the snoman hat. Which is giving me a heck of a time . I have gotten everything down on my snowman, but that hat. But I'll keep trying. I don't think I could do the drum although quite a few people have had success with that. I'm just not good at the gluing part which is my problem with the snowman hat!

DWDW, I'm glad you were able to work on your project and finish it super fast. WOW!! KWYM about learning process. I found that to be the same for me. And getting the critique back really helped. I'm sure you'll be hearing back from them soon. It looks like NEC is super consistent sending back critiques in about 2wks time.

A quick update on my 3rd attempt at fiber snowman. I had hat issues again on my 2nd attempt, gluing the hat together has been challenging for me . I've tossed out a few hats that just didn't pass my inspection and I'm sure wouldn't pass NEC's based on my critique. I've finished my 3rd attempt and will be mailing him in on Monday. I'm hoping to start on the penguin on Monday which fortunately doesn't have the same type of hat the snowman has...I'm hoping this will be easier.

You know I had used up all of my peppercorns, (really it was my fault, I crushed a few while trying to glue them down), and I wrote a little note asking for 2 more when I sent in my 2nd attempt. Well to my surprise, they sent me a few more for free to finish my 3rd try. I was thinking they might make me purchase them, but they didn't and I was pleased as punch!

myiiiisons, I certainly do not have any expierence on the snowman hat, but by looking at the picture of what you have to do, I'm gonna guess the penguin hat will be easier to do. The hardest part for me on the penguin is the wool. I just got a DVD in the mail for that today and watched it and I think it will help me alot. At least by viewing the DVD, I now understand what they meant by pulling the wool and it shows exactly how they wrap it. I can almost guarantee my penguin won't pass inspection and now after seeing the DVD, I can't wait for it to get back to me so I can try it again. Good luck with your snowman. Third times a charm...right!!!
