Default I'm on the team

Hi my NEC team mates! On Friday, I bought the scottie poodle magnet kit and I also bought the DVD. I received the DVD, but I think I need to give them a call because I got the DVD for the Kitty Kat. I hope the DVD for the poodle magnet is as good as the Kitty Magnet. I can't wait to get my kit and send it out. I hear that the process to get up to max is a lengthy process, but rewarding.

My Biggest question is about the polka dots. is there something in particular that they are looking for when you create the dots?

Smile Tropical Bird House

The tropical bird house consists of spackling a little wooden bird house. After the spackle dries you paint and glitter it. Also you need to paint and glitter the little bird. You will glue a string hanger to the top of the house. Then you will layer really fuzzy feathers up both sides of the roof. Attach a bead and feathers to the birds head and feathers to it's tail using hot glue for all of the above. I have fun with this one.
Good luck!!!

They're looking for perfectly round, even edges on the dots that are evenly covered in glitter. That's all!

Default Perfect Polka Dots Every Time

***This suggestion does not come from me******This is from a woman named Charleen, who has been with NEC since "08"****This is her suggestion on how to make perfect polka dots every time*****

"Hi all.....

For perfect polka dots....the size of a CD hole, I use the Loew Cornell Style Stix - I believe I bought them at Hobby Lobby. They come in a set of 4 sizes for around $6 - $7. I use the second from the largest. They have round, firm, dome shaped sponge tips and are made just for making circles and dots. They work beautifully and are very fast and the edges are perfect each time. I just drop 2 or 3 drops of paint where I want the polka dot, then holding the handle of the Stix straight up and down , carefully mash the sponge dome into the paint and it spreads out to the size you want. When I have finished making all the dots on a board, I spoon glitter over the dots and flip it over tapping on the back w/my finger to shake the excess glitter back into my glitter bowl. I then set the board aside to dry, preferably over-night and repeat the process again on the next until I have all of my boards polka dotted. This is a quick process and you should have perfect circles each time."*****end of her suggestion****

I attached a picture of the Loew Cornell Style Stix, so that you can see what Charleen is talking about.

P.S. Charleen, just in case I am showing the wrong product, I'm sorry

Default for newbies

Just wanted to keep any newbies informed of my progress with NEC. My scottie magnet kit was mailed out to me on Monday. I received it on Thursday. I didn't pay any special shipping fees, just regular mail. That was a total of 4 days. I called NEC to find out what I can do about receiving the wrong DVD. Tecesca was soo nice to me. She took my information, checked me out in the system, saw that the mistake was on their end, and told me not to worry, my DVD would be out sent out with Fridays mail. I didn't have to pay anything and she didn't force me to send anything back. Now that my friends is what I call seriously awsome customer service.
Nobodies perfect, we all make mistakes, it's how we fix the mistakes that we should be judged upon.

Now I'm off to complete my sample so I can get it in tomorrows mail.
Take care

Mayra, That was so nice of them. I got the wrong one also and called and they shipped out the right one. Said it was ok to watch the wrong one if I wanted to...the nests looked like fun on the DVD so I thought I'd try that one also and bought that kit. They have been fun to make. I just finished my 1st 50 pc unit today.

To all the NEC newbies...Good luck on your samples! These kits are so much fun to make. After you do a few of them they become easier to do and you get faster at putting them together. I'm still new at getting 50 pc units and still working out the kinks to get faster at putting them together.

The Scottie mag looks so cute. I might give that a try next.

Good luck everyone
Debbie

Default Thank you!

Thank you Dawnhasclass for the info regarding the Love Birds!

They don't sound too difficult, hopefully I won't have a problem with them.
