Thanks for the info. What project do you recommend? How long do they give you for a deadline? I am a stay at home mom and plan on working after the children are in bed. Maybe 6 to 8 hrs a week. I think. I guess it all depends. Probably could do 10 hrs if I do it Sun.- Thurs. night. I won't work on Fri or Sat. That is family and friends time. Thanks

Yes, you mold the clay to shape and then paint as indicated in the instructions.

The project to start with really depends on what you like to do. If you like to work with clay, then a clay project, if you like to sew then maybe a sewing project. You really need to figure that out for yourself. You can ask questions about the projects or call them and talk with them and they will be able to help you. As far as the deadline.... there really is no "deadline" persay.... you can take as long as you need. However, once approved in order to move up to the next group of fifty you need to make thier deadline that they put on your return sheet. Otherwise, they just keep you at the same count you had. So if you were working on a unit of 50 pieces and you made the deadline and the pieces were good, they would move you up to 100 pieces. If you didn't make the deadline, then they would just keep you at 50 pieces and give you a new deadline.

Sorry to say, but they will not necessarily leave you at the level you're at. They moved me from 100 back to 50 after I missed a deadline. I got no comment from them whatsoever as to why. I called them and couldn't get an answer for awhile. After several days I got a call back and received a message thatsaid that it appeared that I couldn't handle 100so they sent me 50 to do instead. If therewas a problem with the quality, they didn't tell me that. Ihave toassume that what they told me was true. I'll see what happens next. My unit of 50 was received several days ahead of their deadline, soI'll see if I get moved back up to 100 next time.

That's what I thought too, soafter I the deadline had passed, I didn't hurry to get them in. I mailed them in only 10 days after the deadline which I didn't think was that bad. It was not a good surprise. There is no pressure if you don't mind getting your quantity cut back...Edited by: kcduffer

I've always thought that it would be kinda hard for any company to fill their orders on time when there are so many things that can go wrong, supplies not comming in on time, different mail times, unexpected large orders and if several assemblers are weeks late getting finished products back to company that could make for some very unhappy customers which is not good for anyone.

Just talked to a woman from NEC and she suggests making the lovebirds because they are the easiest. What do you all think? How is it making the clay shapes and baking them in your own oven? Is it hard to get right? Any help would be great. Is it a good first project or should I try the magnets? Thanks!!!
