Thank you Velma, I'm glad I made it too! Yes, questions would be nice here. I get alot of them in email but forum style would be fun as well.

Dear Coach Velma:

I am trying to start and work from home for the first time. I dont have much experience as were to start. I am fluent in spanish, and I am able to translate from english to spanish and vise versa with no problem. I also can read it, write it.

I am also very good at the computer Internet, Quicbooks, Excel, Word, Word Perfect.

Are you able to give me any pointers as to were I should start looking. I would really appreciated.

I know you asked Velma but just wanted to pipe in anyway

I participate in quite a few business fairs and there was a lady at an entrpreneur expo I didwho did spanish/english translations as her business. She would take your business literature and re-write in spanish for you. I can't remember how much she charged, though. So, maybe you could do something like that as a business or add to other things you want to offer. Well, that is my 2 cents. I am sure Velma will along here shortly to help you.

Good Luck,

Venessa L

Hi Claudia,

I totally agree with what Venessa offered! I believe there would be some wonderful work for you there, and it may be of value for you to look into Virtual Assistant work as well. Perhaps a combination of the two would provide you with some wonderful customers and work.

I believe work like this can also be found through e-lance.com as well.

Snoop around on the web for translation services and see what they charge. If you can find someone who does translation, and not necessarily spanish, they may give you some pointers on pricing and how to build your business. No point in reinventing the wheel if you don't have to!

There are a number of virtual assistants on this board, and mine is http://www.thetimelyva.com.

Good luck to you!

This is such a great forum!

Name? Dayna Young

Business? Virtual Professionals

Services? I am a professional resume writer that is relatively new to working from home. I also provide interview coaching, secretarial duties and general administrative work virtually. I am also a Marketing Consultant for Staffcentrix.

So far, my business has grown only by referrals. It keeps me busy right now, but I'm sure in the future I will be looking to some of the other postings here for help in the areas I'm not an expert in for growing my business.

Something cool about me? I am also a performance violinist and teach lessons...I LOVE it! And I'm a military spouse--so working virtually is a necessity to keep from starting a new job every three years with each move we do.

I look forward to using some of the other businesses in this forum!
