Default Ning

Have you looked at Ning lets you create and join new social networks for your interests and passions. It's a free platform for creating social network sites. Great for member interaction! It's easy to set up, maintain, and monetize. If you want a up-front membership fee, you can create a simple landing page where your members can join and pay before being admitted to the member site.

Hope this helps!

I was thinking of doing the same thing but wanted to have a free forum and then an option to access a members area. Can somebody give me an estimate? I don't want anything super flashy...just a forum, an area where I could post articles and tips and then a paid member section. It would be a few months before I can get anything done since I am busy taking classes but once I'm done with school I am going to definitely start working on my idea. I'd like to know how much to expect to pay for something like this that way I can start saving up for it now. Thanks

Default Massive Exsposure from Article Submissions??? Be Wary

Hi, would like to comment on the post about getting massive exposure

from Article Submissions.

My experience has been the exact opposite. I have submitted over 100 articles to over 350 article sites over the last 5 months, starting the first week of June.

My results have been virtually zero. My Article Submission service first said it would take 3 to 4 months for the " massive ' traffic to appear. Now that I am past that mark, they are now saying 4 to 5 months.

Be very careful about putting your time into article marketing. It may be effective for link building but I really doubt the claims about the traffic.

Depending on the type of membership site you are wanting to create - there are several options. Among my favorites are:
1. For basic sites, using Wordpress with Members Plugin will work - there are plenty out there ranging in price and functionality.
2. Something more functional and scaleable including user forums, downloads, etc, I would recommend using e107, a content management system with a growing developer base. Amember is a good way to get a membership site off the press quickly using e107
3. Semi-custom - find a platform you like (e107, Drupal, Joomla, Mambo, etc) get plugins that will help you and rework code or create custom plugins to do exactly what you want

For ease of use, functionality, and scaleability, Amember with e107 is probably my favorite pick.

Default Other Options

Amember is a good low-cost way to get a secure site.

Default membership site

Hi folks,

I too am building a membership site. How do you intend on marketing your site? will you have an affiliate program?

A few people have talked about mass article submissions, some have had great results and other havent. I'm not a big believer in the mass submissions of articles. I think you're much better off using good quality sites such as ezinearticles that can get your articles to the top of google.

the best idea for every membership site is just tell all your member to increase membership of site and you will pay any kind of incentive( like a commission). than thy well work for you indirectly.
