Break down your day into hourly (or half hourly or third hourly segments). You've got 24 hours in a day, the same as everybody else. How many hours do you work outside the home? How many hours do you spend commuting? How many hours do you sleep and exercise? How many hours on (whatever other activities you do)? See how much time is left. Look for ways to incorporate studying into your "downtime" whether that's when you're commuting, headphones when you're exercising, etc.
I spent much of undergrad (and then grad school) commuting. I did some crazy things to fit in studying (not recommended) such as holding flash cards at the top of the wheel on divided highway roads. I listened to audiobook versions of books I was reading in classes and made my own audio verbally reading notes, etc. so I could listen to while driving. Have a minimum amount of time that you study each day no matter what. And then find time to squeeze in extra when possible. |
