Question What do you think of online Medical Coding courses?

My local Community College is offering online courses for Medical Coding which runs for six weeks and costs only $70. I would also need to purchase the 2009 CPT manual and 2009 ICD-9-CM. No prior medical experience is required, but knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy would be helpful. They also offer an online Medical Terminology course. Would this type of training be accepted by potential employers or would I need to take additional classes?

I would research and ask past students what their experiece was. Do they offer a test prep course? A knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is a MUST! Otherwise you will be lost. Do they prepare your for the aapc or ahima certification? If you want more info pm me.
