Has anyone taken the Career Step Medical Coding and Billing course? If so, can you post or PM me your experiences? Also, did you sign up for the Gold or Platinum level? There are several online schools out there. I checked the AAPC website, but I can't find where the recommend any "online" schools, because they have their own online courses.

Thanks for any input!

Cyndi

Smile Career Step

I'm currently in the career step coding and billing program. I progressed that much, but I'm trying. I want to be done with it by December and I think I can do it. I'm a military spouse so I was able to sign up and receive free tuition due to the military spouse program. I say, if the military sponsors the program it is a legitimate school. From other threads I've read on here about Career Step it seems to be a completely legitimate school. A good site to go to would be AHIMA Home - American Health Information Management Association and they will let you know what is a certified school.

Same here. I am supposed to be finished with the program in May. Hopefully I can finish by then.

I've not had any issues so far, except forgetting to update my shipping address when I requested my ICD-9 book. I sent an urgent email to support, and they fixed my address before the book got shipped.

I've only heard good things about Career Step.

I'm in the Career Step MT course and I LOVE it! I think they are great. I've spoken with them on the phone several times when I was first joining and they were super nice. I like that when reading the lessons, they even throw in some jokes!

Be careful..........Career Step is not an accredited school.
