I thought maybe I'd share a list of good links that I have about Medical Coding.... and maybe anyone else who has other good links could share theirs? Lots of good info out there for people exploring this field...

AAPC - American Academy of Professional Coders
http://aapc.com/index.aspx

Ahima - American Health Information Management Association
http://www.ahima.org/

Both AAPC and AHIMA have online medical coding courses that are supposed to be pretty good.

Great List! I wanted to share another link:

Lincoln College Online - Lincoln College has a great program in medical coding and billing. 100% Online, great instructors, fit your schedule.

There is where I got my training in medical coding and billing online. Highly recommended!

Hi Ann,

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd jump in with another link. It's an educational resource all about starting up and learning the skills of billing and coding, written by pros in the industry. It's called medical billing and coding guide - hope you find it useful!

cheers

Default Where can one gain the work experience?!

I have been looking to gaing the work experience as a medical coder since I graduated from my school in 2010 of August. Please some helpful advice!

P.S Cold-calling doesn't work because that company already has someone who already works in the building as a replacement...hence the reason they don't advertise...any other ideas would be grealy appreciated.I also have my school helping me with leads too which I still follow up on...I'm just burnt out with this...
