Go to a community college, not an online school. Take courses that are certified

through AHIMA . Regardless of what people tell you, you can NOT just go to an online school and start working from home. Typically, they require certification and 3-5 years of in-hospital experience. The online schools offer 'certification', but it doesn't count for
anything. It's a waste of your time and money.

If you still want to go for online i recommend career step

Good advice, I'm looking to get in this field too. I want to do online but if I got to a CC I can get a grant which is a plus for me.
