I worked with them 2 years ago and didn't last a week. I absolutely hated it and were constantly on me for not making enough calls when I was calling people back to back - whatever - not worth it in my book - not at all.

I finally got a check from CLC, after waiting and chewing my nails for a couple weeks and almost calling the BBB. I called every # I could until I spoke to a human being at CLC! The man said he'd check to see if my check was sent out, but it actually came in that day. A quick note just letting me know they'd gotten my resignation and that I would be paid, would have been great! But i guess that's just too much to ask for these days... Whatever if other folks like working for CLC, that kind of telemarketing is not for me and the way they treated me after I quit just solidified my feelings about the company. So anybody considering working for CLC know this: they are a telemarketing and somewhat unprofessional company (from their manuals, training to social skills) and once you quit, you're not even worth a "goodbye".

I never heard a word back from them either when I quit

I got my check also. It was only for twenty minutes of work. They seem like a legit company if somebody likes that kind of work. That kind of work was not for me. I don't like people calling me. I won't do that to other people either.

Wow! I am so glad you posted it as I was getting pretty excited and was going to apply. I hate it when I get calls like that and there's no way I can do that to people! Their job description is so different!
As for the do not call list, ha that's ridiculous! I had been bombarded with calls from a company claiming that my car warranty was going to expire. I have no car warranty! So one day I had it with them, and told the lady that I didn't even have a car (I lied) and she ignored me and says what's your make and model. I told her again that I didn't have a car and that I wanted them to take me off their calling list....and she HUNG up on me!!!!! I am still getting the calls...at least 2 -3 times a week (we changed out number a while back, before we started getting these calls, and realized that we forgot to put our info on the do not call list). Crazy! So I definitely wouldn't want to treat people the way I was treated. Thanks so much for posting the info! Jessica

I had to reply to the deliberate misinformation being posted on this thread. I have been a CLC caller now for nearly 7 years. I have been treated with nothing but respect. I have never been asked to do a single thing that was illegal, immoral or remotely distasteful. My check has arrived on time - each an every time - for 7 years. My check has never been short or late.
Finding a legitmate work at home job that pays $10.00 an hour is hard. I am thrilled to have found it. I show up to work on time, every day and in return, I am treated with diginity and respect. I have let my supervisor Lori know when I am taking time off for a quick summer trip or Christmas vacations and have never once been told no. In fact, instead I have always been thanked for the information. Ihad an emergency appendectomy 4 years ago. Was I hounded to show back to work? Nope, instead Joe called tofind out how I wasdoing and let me know my job would beready when Irecovered. I have to wonder how badly the people posting here want a job. I have reccomended CLC to 4 friends and family members. I received a "finders fee" bonus for all 4. Three of them worked out really well. One had a fear of calling and blamed CLC for the type of calling rather than accepting repsonsibilty. She would work for an hour and quit, not show up on a regular basis and was eventually fired. Is that CLC's fault? I don't think so. She tried to blame me for suggesting the company. She and I clearly don't chat much anymore. This company haskept my head above water through some really difficult times and I am tired ofa few whiny people whoare so insecure, they become vindictive trying towarn people off from a legitimate and caringcompany. I would suggest people interested in thiscompany listen to the large number of posts fromlong term employees - not people who quit after half an hour. I am sure I will now get attacked. So be it. this is a GREAT company and I would stand up to anyone who tries to take it down. |

Dugsmom, I think I have the same person harassing me that is calling you with the car warranty stuff. I actually connected with someone and very politely asked to be put on their do not call list and they hung up on me. I don't know why the FCC allows people to use telephone lines and numbers to harass people and do illegal stuff and ignore your request to be put on a do not call list. They need to go after these companies with a vengeance and put them out of business. They also need to make all companies have to submit all their calling numbers to a database so you can look them up online because Lord knows they will refuse to tell you who they even are (and they want to do business with you?) Travelon, I have to first point out that not everyone's morals are the same, so what may be morally allowable to you is morally wrong to another person. I have to ask why if Lori and Joe are so good about getting back to people, why do so many people here say they don't receive replies? Are you trying to say everyone here is lying? What are they getting out of lying? Wouldn't you think that they'd want to work and make the money instead of quitting and telling everyone the job was terrible? "I am tired ofa few whiny people whoare so insecure, they become vindictive trying towarn people off from a legitimate and caringcompany." Those are personal attacks and are unwelcome and uncalled for. This sentence shows off your more authentic character and therefore I will dismiss your post about this company since your post gives validity to all the complaints. Someone once said, "Methinks the lady doth protest too much," and I'm thinking this company probably isn't all that good if you have to resort to personally attacking people in order to defend it. Diaphenia, thanks so much for your post... you really clarified what this thread is about! Travelon, I am not deliberately posting misinformation... that couldn't be further from the truth. I am a person, like everyone else on this website, looking for legitimate work. I am not lazy, and I definitely hung in there with CLC for more than an hour! I signed in like clock work, did my hours, was respectful and communicative on my end. I hung on as long as I could, but as I explained in my first post, the job was just impossible to continue, and I was suprised at the lack of communication from the managers at CLC. Like Diaphenia said, " not everyone's morals are the same, so what may be morally allowable to you is morally wrong to another person". It may be feel totally fine to you, calling people and ploughing through surveys, barely stopping to take a breath for fear they will hang up on you, or getting hung up on or yelled at for repeatedly calling the same person. But this kind of work is not tolerable for me. I can not stand being called for something I didn't sign up for, and people not respecting my wish to be put on a DO NOT CALL LIST. My manager at CLC told me during training "not to abuse the do not call list selection" , meaning don't put people on the do not call list too much. Everyday I worked I reached a lot of people who were so upset that they'd been called 5 times that day already, and every day prior to that, and were furious we still had not put them on the do not call list as they had requested. I don't have any reason to make up any of this. Like Diaphenia said, I really have nothing to gain from lying. I'm just looking for a good job, one that I am able to do based on my morals and tolerance level for abuse! Being yelled and cussed at by people on the phone is not easy for everyone. You may be able to handle this, and enjoy and appreciate your job, but not everyone else can.... that doesn't make them "whiny people whoare so insecure, they become vindictive trying towarn people off from a legitimate and caringcompany." Not everyone can be a mechanic, or a cleaner, or a chef. Just because someone doesn't appreciate and love working for CLC with all their heart like you do, doesn't make them lame, whiny, or less than you! I think we should agree to disagree here... You may think this company is legitimate and caring, but some of us have experienced the opposite. Our experience should not be disregarded. People who are researching this company should be able to hear all the experiences people have had out there. If someone reading this thread is like you, they probably won't be phased by our bad experiences, because like you, they're looking for a company like CLC, and don't mind this kind of telemarketing. But someone else who is not cut out for this kind of job, will be happy they were able to read this thread so they could at least be warned about some of the cons to this job. I certainly wish there had been a thread like this when I was researching CLC. All I heard were great things on this website, so I joined the company. But it was a big shock what the job really turned out to be, and by the time I could no longer hang in there, I was physically ill from the stress and abuse of making calls like that for hours straight. Again Gopala you have once again nailed it and in a very professional wording might I add.
