Default Hang in there

@ the tender age of 4 there is not to much you can do. Doctors, parents all thought i was being lazy and not wanting to go to the bathroom when i felt it coming. The reality is WE DONT KNOW UNTIL IT COMES. Once it comes we can push it out, but we can not stop it from initially coming out. Kegals and other muscles exercises might help.

In regards to school, I had was fortunate they did not put me in special ed, I had an accident EVERDAY. Mostly after lunch. It is going to be hard. I say this, cause I dont want people to think that one day they will snap out of it. NO, they will have to deal with it forever.

Miralax will help him go, but thats a stool softener. Thats going to make him want to go more, it might help him go, but it will be harder from him to control it. I will like to repeat, WE DO NOT KNOW WHEN ITS COMING. I wish you the best of luck, patients is very important, and informing your young one that it will be different for him then the average kid is important.

Default Very Scared

Hi

My son was born with imperforated anus. He is 3 plus now. He had colostomy when he was 1 day old, then another op when he was 1 year and then closure of colostomy at 1 and a half years at St. georges hospital in tooting by Dr Holmes.
He is not potty trained yet and he goes to private nursery in london in his pull ups. I have tried potty training him but he is scared and I have to stop it in between all the time. Please help!!!! Please tell me how to potty train him? I want him to have a normal life and I dont want kids to bully him.
At the moment he takes movicol everyday in the morning. Doctor has given me micralax, which is an anal anema but I don't give it to him as he poos without it 2-3 times a day. Any tips/advices from moms gone through this would be much appreciated...

Thanx
Vibha
