Default How to motivate youself to start a business?

I have a couple of ideas to start my own business and I am currently saving up the money but I know that when I have that money I am going to chicken out. I'm just afraid of failing and loosing the money I will invest, I really don't have any spare money to just be throwing away. Also I know my family will just laugh at me and think I am crazy when I tell them I am going to start my own business. They are just not the type to risk losing money on trying something new. They are more like the type that stick to the same old thing and never take chances. Deep down I know I have to take the plunge, I need to create a steady and reliable source of income to be financially independent. I don't want me and my kids to have to rely on other peoples help forever.

I'm sorry I'm responding the "lazy" way, but this says it all:

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I... I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." Robert Frost

You will never know if you don't take the first step. If you believe you can succeed, you are right!

Starting a business is a lot of work and takes lot of time as well. To get started, first plan what you want to do. Budget and allocate resources. Have back up plans and focus on what you would do best at. There are many things involved in business like marketing and finances. So, I think the best is a solid business plan and budget.

Starting a business takes time, money and hard work. But it also takes you to believe in yourself and what you are wanting to do. You are right, some family or friends might not think you are doing the right thing... or they might even laugh at you.... but as long as you work hard, believe in yourself and time to grow... it will work out for the best!

If you never give it a try... how will you ever know!!! Good luck... and remember to start small and grow...

I think we probably all felt some fear in the beginning - it's natural. As others have said, make a plan. Use this time while you're saving money to plan. Knowing what you are going to do and how you'll do it will help you overcome the fear. And don't invest more than you can afford to lose. Of course when you're on a tight budget it's hard to lose anything, but what I mean is don't invest so much that you're family will be in too much financial difficulty if you lose it.

Keep researching and planning and saving. You'll get there!

Oh... and as far as family laughing at you... if you have a solid plan to show them, they may just take you more seriously.

I have been self-employed for 6 years now. One of the things we have to do as self-employed people is do our own development and the best way to do this is to get connected to others in your same industry - not necessarily the same company, but industry. So like on Facebook, I'm connected with not only a lot of Ambit folks, but also a lot of other network marketers and a great way to find those people are places like WAHM, Twitter, etc.

What I learned from all those people is about some of the leaders out there like Robert Kiyosoki, Jim Rohn, Todd Smith and so many more. You won't have time for all of them but find the ones that inspire you the most and read their blogs, their Facebook posts, their tweets, their books...listen to their CD's....whatever you can afford to do. And if and when you join a company (it sound like you might be getting into network marketing) be sure to go to as many of their trainings and presentations as you can afford to.

Because you're right! You need to provide a better future for you and your children and you won't do it with a 9-5 traditional job! Nor will you do anything for your own self-worth! Do your research and be ready, but go for it!

Default Make lists.......

A businessman (who is now a billionaire) once asked a successful businessman
what is the most important thing you learned, or that helped you in business.

The man replied "make lists"

The now billionaire credits that one thing for helping him succeed most

Make a list of goals - cross them off when you reach them
Make a list of things you need to do to help your business succeed - cross them off when you do them
Make a list of what you need your family to do to help you - Have them cross them off when they do it

If your goal is to make an extra $100 and you reach that goal
make your next goal $200, the next $500, etc.

Although you can't spend every waking moment on your business. Just remember, you don't make money
watching TV, or surfing the internet, or ...... Set aside some time to work on your business and stick to it.

A door to door salesman who was quite successful was asked by another if he was bothered when people said no. He replied, its the law of averages, I just get twice as excited when they say yes.

good luck

You must start a business with failure in mind. What do I mean by that? Every successful business person WILL fail at one time or another, and even many times. I failed miserably at MLM/Network marketing for 5 years before finding success.

But you can make an educated risky decision...if you are starting a business that you are passionate about, have all the tools you need to be successful, have every intention of taking actionable money making steps every day with your business etc....then you will be successful. If it's your first business it might take a while to get there but I say WHO CARES what other people think? You will always have haters or people who say you won't be successful.

It's all in how you view any negativity that comes in your life...if you have people saying it won't work or you will fail, you can either succumb to their negativity or you can use it as fuel to your cause.

Everything we do or experience in life can have a positive or negative impact on our life...how positive or how negative it becomes depends on how we react to it.

Save your money and go for it when the time is right and you are ready

When you start a business you need to have a plan, but you also need to have small goals that you want to reach to help keep you on task. Starting a business is going to take work, time, and effort. You need to make a schedule and stick to it. You must treat your business as you would a job that you work for someone else, being committed and doing your best because at the end of the day, the pay check you get is generated by the effort you put into your business. Make sure it is a product that you believe in, because if you don't no one else will. You can't look to family or anyone else when it comes to fulfilling your dreams, you must seach within allowing your inner peace to direct you. Also, surround yourself with positive people who will encourage you for who you are and what you believe you are called to do. As they encourage and support you, encourage and support them with their dream too. Reach for the stars, all thing are possible if you believe.
