Default Does anyone know what you can really expect to make as a Medical Transcriptionist?

I am a Work at Home Mom and have actually looked into Medical Transcription before, I even paid for schooling but ended up not finishing because I went to work outside of my home at the time. But ... I was never really sure on average what they really make. Well we are looking at a house and the lady renting the home now is a single mom living in the home alone and she has never been late on her rent and her rent is $1200 a month. That tells me she must make pretty good money because she works FT from home.

So does anyone know on average what a Medical Transcriptionist makes? I am wondering if it is worth looking into schooling again?

I hardly know if there are any good courses of it but I would recommend you to develop your listening and writing(typing) skills and join a job as a fresher, this may work better than spending time in searching the training.

Thanks for the tip. If I decide to actually go this route (as a MT) then I will be attending Career Step. They have an awesome course, as well as placement assistance. My sister in law went through them a couple of years ago. I started it but had to go work outside of my home and ran out of time to complete the course. So I would have to start over.
