Default This is What I Saw at the Gym....

I go to the gym and see those people who have the incline on the treadmill cranked up and they are holding on to the handles for dear life! They look as if they are about to fall off a cliff on Mt. Everest !
They do it because they think the higher the incline the better the work out. Well, I would agree, but not if you hold on!
Studies have shown that when you hold on, you actually burn 25% less calories! As well as putting stress on your body alignment and encouraging bad posture and balance.
“Holding on” doesn’t only apply to when you are on a treadmill, but with the rest of your life. When we hold on – or hold back – we do not give it our all.
When we play it safe and build ourselves a safety net, we don’t push ourselves as hard and we trick ourselves into thinking we are making more progress than we actually are.
The key to going from Good to GREAT is not being 100% better, it is just being a little bit better by letting go and not holding on.
We need to get rid of the proverbial net and force ourselves to Go For It and do whatever it takes to be SUCCESSFUL.

Great Point. I agree. People who hold on at the gym or in life are not giving it 100% and cutting themselves short. If you give it your all it will pay off faster.
Let's be determined to be successful and go hard

What a great analogy! I go to the gym too, and notice the people hanging on while on the treadmill. I don't do that, because I find it's uncomfortable. I usually try the random selection where the incline goes up and down. You can't hang on doing that...it would be too difficult. I also like moving my arms while on the treadmill. Helps with balance. Now that you made this analogy, I'll try it with other areas of my life.

I don't get the holding on part the should know they are cutting themselves short if they cant do it lower the incline and move faster. If your going to work out give it 110% everytime. Thanks for the info
