I use AWeber and was very happy with them in the past. Although a while back, I tried again, and messages didn't go to anyone with a comcast.net email address. I contacted them and they just plain didn't know what was going on.

I was disappointed, but recently I started a new website and I'm using them again, just hoping all goes well.

I wish Constant Contact offered a decent autoresponder system. They're so controlling when it comes to what they will and won't allow. And yet, AWeber won't let you add people without their consent and CC will. That's far more important to good business practices than preventing people from offering autoresponders.

I should add that, at this time, CC does allow you to offer a certain number of autoresponders to new subscribers only. So that's an improvement but it's not enough.

(For those who don't know what autoresponders are, it's a series of email messages that go out in sequence when someone signs up for them. You determine when they go out, i.e., Message 1 might go out immediately, Message 2 might go out the next day, Message 3 might go out out five days after Message 2 is received, etc. - according to how you set it up).

That's pretty disturbing, Douglas! The crazy thing is, I do get emails from people who think that because they are offering something spiritual or nice that it's not really spam. Which drives me crazy. Of course it's spam, just as much as the Viagra ads I get!

But it's awful that people will report emails they signed up for.

Definitely a wake-up call.

I just started using traffic wave. I like it because it is unlimited emails and is free for the first 30 days. Then after that it is only $19.95/mo.

The statistics in the link shared above are very interesting. I know I personally do not open e-mails I have not requested or don't recognize in my personal address. I use a specific and different address for shopping and still another for business. In those I will use the "unsubscribe" function as opposed to spam report unless my unsubscribe is ignored.

I was going to use Getresponse but then I found out about a service which has everything I need so I changed my mind.

Having said that, I think you can send up to 500 emails for free every month with Getresponse.
