Question Suggestions Needed for Using Classified Ads

Hi Everyone

I have read a lot of posts suggesting to use free classified ads as a means for advertising. I want to know how could I use free classified ads to drive traffic to a specific website and/or blog?

I will be opening an online t-shirt business soon and I'm not sure how to word an ad to make people want to visit my online store and my blog....(I will be promoting my online store through my blog and website as well)

I figured I could kill two birds with one stone by increasing my followers and also advertising my online business!

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

Basically it can run 2 ways:
1. Direct traffic from the free classified website itself.
2. Improve your off-page SEO by creating more backlinks to your website and increases your search engines positions.

I am not a fan of most "Online" Classified Ad options. Most are very "Free For All" (FFA) focused and this can have a negative effect on your search engine rankings.

Offline Ads work well in Newspapers etc. Some papers and magazines have free options.

The key is not how much advertising you get but how targeted it is.

You will want to think of WHO is going to buy your t-shirts and WHERE are they likely to hang out... then Advertise accordingly.

Put the key words you want to show up on a google search, in the title.
You can use the keyword search tool at google.

Hi

Join a good quality link exchange program and link with other similar websites and blogs.

I would also register your site with google and bing. You can do this by opening an account with them and registering your details as a webmaster. This verifys your site with google and bing and you are more likely to be listed with them.

You can also use social media such as twitter and facebook to promote your business if you haven't already done so.

All of the above can be done for free and is ongoing as a marketing tool for your business.

Any other questions please pm me or visit my website for lots more help and ideas on marketing a small business.

Best Wishes
Rona

I'd suggest looking at the copy of the ad and think-what problem am I offering to solve for the person reading the ad? Am I offering a value for this person-is there a reason that this person reading the ad will be in an immediately better position by responding to this ad?
