Default any recommendations?

I was wondering what you all do for work at home? Does anyone have anything legit, true, and tried that they are doing that they would recommend?

Also, for people with signatures that advertise....are these for places you have had positive experience with? Or do you make money in the advertising of the links/businesses, and that's where the best money comes from?

There are so many opportunities, and it really depends on what you want to do.

Do you want to sell products (do home parties and retail to people directly)?

Do you want to work solely on the computer at home?

Do you want to write articles and such?

Some on here earn money on their blog...and on and on...

Visit the individual forums on here for those types of things that interest you. Then begin to ask questions on those forums to narrow down your search. The right fit for you is out there.

There are many of us you work from home in direct sales and each of us loves our business (check out all the different signatures), but if that is not at all what appeals to you then there are so many more opportunities as well.

Best wishes on your search. Keep us posted.

Hi there and welcome to the boards! Are you looking for a job or a home business? I prefer the home business route because it works well for my family and I. The nice thing is if anyone gets sick or needs me I'm here for them.

We don't have parties, or stock inventory I work with the internet and phone with a company that's been around for 18 yrs now. If you would like more information just let me know. What works for one doesn't always work for all though. Good luck in your search!

Blessings

Smile Hello

I guess it depends on what you are wanting to do. An office job, sales, b2b sales, phone work, customer service.

I am about to start with AmeriPlan, its an insurance supplement. The ladies here can tell you all about it if you like the idea of offering a service.

Below is different types of work at home I have tried over the years.

Avon -

Curb Painting Service- good money....hard work, outside, we passed out flyer's in a given neighborhood and then went out and painted the address on the curbs of the people that placed the signs back out agreeing to have them painted... then later that night we would collect the money. We were only stiffed a few times. Worst day made 20.00 dollars, best day made 240. dollars.

Inbound call center - paid by the talk time minute, didn't make much money.

Telemarketing, didn't do well.

Appointment setting, doing that now....not happy with it.

I made good money doing Tarot Card readings, inbound call center, however my heart felt that it was wrong for me to do it.....so I had to stop.

I'm sure there were a few more that I tried....but I cant think of them now...Curb painting was our biggest success. However I am divorced and don't want to work it alone.

Good luck wih whateve you do. Just take a look at all the boards, there is alot here tha is REAL, however they are hard work...not money for nothing...

Welcome and hope you find what you are looking for!

Laylana

Thanks for the info everyone.

I am not sure how to find the different forums. I just see the few right here, not any more specialized type topic forums....how do I get to the other ones?

I would love to write and blog to make money. That would be great. I also wouldn't mind working on the phone and computer for a job. I'm open to a lot, although sales I am not so good with. Customer service would be good. Surveys, etc,

If I had to do a few differnt things to add up to a decent income, that'd be fine. I would like to try and earn about $300 a week. The more the better, of course, lol, but if I could get to $300 (take-home) a week I could quit my job.

I have even considered babysitting/daycare, although we just got a new puppy and now I worry about having toddlers around with a dog.

UPDATE: I just found all the many, many specialized forums. Kind of funny ~ I am getting used to this new notebook laptop and it's small and I didn't even realize how many forums were listed scrolling down lol! This notebook was a surprise Christmas gift from hubby, but the small size is tough, especially getting used to typing on a smaller keyboard.

Yay! Now that you found the other forum posts it will be easier for you I've been looking at those notebook computers to but I already have 3 computers now so really don't need another one!

Just remember if you were to get a sales job you don't want to sell anything but yourself its all about bonding with people cause people don't like to be sold anything.

The site in my signature is a friend of mine, he has a couple of articles on there and is going to be posting more.

The best way I have found to make money online is by selling virtual products (such as eBooks). This is called affilaite marketing, and I have found much success doing it. All you have to do is write articles and wait for people to come. You make good commision too (around $25 a sale).

mdnite:

My husband and I own three companies. Two are engineering firms (hardware/software for proprietary networks and consulting) and the other that encompasses all our internet/writing/speaking stuff. In the latter, my main income is from a service for setting up blogs for new bloggers and for my blogging itself. (I've been blogging for seven years now.)

In my experience (I've been working from home since 1987), the best work from home stuff is you OWN work from home stuff. Not a "biz opp" or other "here's how you make money" thing. In other words, find a problem -- a real problem -- and figure out how you can solve it using your particular skills and expertise.

Let us know more of what you can do!

Alison

Just wanted to clarify on this. Selling virtual products is not synonymous with affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is when you promote someone ELSE'S product and get a percentage on purchases/leads, etc.
