Default Credit Card Fraud!!!

Has anyone had problems with CC Fraud in the last 30-60 days?

At the beginning of Dec. someone got one of my card's info, cloned themselves their own card with my info then went on a shopping spree in Chicago. All the while my card was sitting in my purse this person tried living it up at my expense. That's still in the process of getting cleared up.

Then today I get several email alerts from my checking account saying I've exceeded this limit and that limit. Turns out over the weekend someone got my debit card info and drained my checking account of $600 with online purchases yet I'm still in possession of the card. Until all the charges clear they won't know where the charges originated from but I had to close my account and be issued a new card.

I've had 2 friends in the last 30 days or so who had similar situations. I'm the only one I know of who had 2 cards exploited. I'm always very careful with my purse and wallet and where I leave it so I don't know how it happened. But coincidentally these are the only 2 cards I use to make online and in store purchases with on a regular basis.

I'm just wondering how wide spread this epidemic has reached and to let you know...be careful.
