When you say "unlimited web pages" are you just referring to multiple pages on ONE site or multiple, one-page sites?
I mean the multiple pages within one site.

If that's the case, any host the limits you to five pages is a joke! Never heard of that before.

Some hosting companies are now offering 3-4 bucks a month for hosting. This site I found compares and reviews the top 10 web hosts: Top 10 Best Web Hosting, Compare Web Hosting, Web Hosting Reviews, Reliable Web Hosting

I haven't looked in any detail and am not criticising the site, but do bear in mind that (like most of them) it's not an independent review site.

They make a commission (often a very big commission) from people clicking on the links on their site.

Sites like this usually tend to "top-rate" the hosting companies that pay them the biggest commissions. Just saying!

True. I also think that while you can find really good, legitimate hosting sources, you need to make sure they are reliable. Not all are. Verify the UPTIME of your hosting provider. If your site is down any significant percentage of the time, it's no better than having no hosting at all and it damages your brand.

I agree with Alison. Don't seek out the lowest price and sacrifice customer service, dependability & bandwidth. If you have questions, you want to be able to reach a person immediately...not send an email and wait 48 hours for a response.

Question Merchant Account??

Thank you all for the information on web hosting. I have another question concerning Merchant Accounts. Would I need a merchant account in order to accept cc payments on my website??? Does anyone have a recommended company they use or know of that has a program I can use to accept cc?? TIA

It depends on your setup. I have a regular merchant account, but with my new blog service site, I just set up the cart with PayPal and Google Checkout. They are merchant accounts, but much simpler to set up than most and no setup fees, no monthly fees, etc.
