I need help in finding a legit business!!!
I was laid off on September 29th at the end of the day. They simply told me that they could not pay my salary anymore, and good luck!! I was so scared and lost!
 Anyway, at night I started looking for jobs online, spread my resume all over the internet. After almost 4 weeks I was hired, but earning half of what I was making. I need desperately another job, where I can work at night and weekends from home. During my hunting from a job, I received countless emails from people sending me to websites where I have to pay to make money!!! I need a part time job where I can work from home and make extra money. I cannot spend money to make money...I do not have extra money! If anyone knows about job that pays you as a part time employee to work from home, please let me know ASAP!!! I am an executive legal secretary, with more than 15 year experience in administrative, managerial and secretarial tasks. I am tri-lingual (English, Portuguese and Spanish). Any work that involves typing, data entry, proof reading, etc...please let me know  I really appreciate your help on this matter.Again, I am not interested in building my own business....I am interested in working for a legitimate business that hires employees to work from home (part time). Thanks!

You should be looking through the "Telecommuting Moms" folder. There are many WAH companies discussed there.
Take the time to read through previous posts, then ask questions.

Business or job?
In your subject line, you stated that you need help with finding a legit business, but in your post, you are referring to needing a work at home job. I would encourage you to educate yourself on the differences. If you were going to websites that were asking you to pay $, it is possible that some of them were actually business opportunities. If that was the case, then it is possible that they were legit, since business opportunities generally have a start-up cost of some sort. But they also have unlimited income potential, depending on the time and effort you put in.
If you are looking for a JOB, though, then you definitely do not want to pay anything to get started. As someone else mentioned, one of the best ways to find what you are looking for is to search through the various folders (telecommuting if you are looking for a job) and educate yourself. Whatever the case, definitely research any company that you are considering joining, whether as an employee or an independent consultant/marketer.

I think by "legit business" the OP is saying she is looking for a legitimate business to HIRE her for a job.

It will be tough, there are a lot of scams ou there. Be careful and do your research is the only advice I can offer...good luck.
