Personally, blogging is awesome. It allows you to build a relationship with those readers of yours. After you have that relationship, they are much more receptive to any advertising you might have.

Some really great post here and I just had to step in and say a few things about all of you...Your all Super people, thanks so much for the information it really helps when there is more than one voice.

Forums play a big part too in getting traffic, there are thousands of forums from How to cook a meal to weightlifting or how to Yoga forums.

Focusing on groups of people in one area can have a huge impact on your business, it can also be the most time consuming.

Pretty much all forums allow a Sig File, let's say that I belong to 20 forums with a total subscriber list of a minimum of 5,000 members each and I post at least 1 reply a week, that would total 100,000 potentially Free views per week, let's say that converts to at least .5% sig file views or 500 views and 10% of that traffic clicks on my sig file that would be about 25 extra visitors to my website per week, but that is just numbers right.

Imagine if you posted Daily! 25 x 7 = 175 views per week x 4 = 700 per month...

See the Power here?

Forums is always a great place, if you got the time then this can bring in tons of Qualified Free traffic, imagine 5% click through on 100,000.

FREE Traffic!!!

PS. Posting in 20-30 Forums with decent content takes about 2-3 hours. (Not SPAM- Just basic content to expose your sig file)

Forums are a great way to get leads to your Website, but the major problem with it is the time consumption, and the audience you are displaying your sig. line to. As in most home biz forums, people are looking for information, and or want to sell, or provide a service. Not buy it.
Forums do however work in providing traffic on a relatively small scale, but in my opinion, from 4 years of it, the payoff is minimal compared to other formidabletechniques.

I have found a good combination of Website SEO and PPC campaigning to work the best for myself. But each of us is different and have our own special talents, business idea's, and apptitude.

I wanted to let everyone know that vistaprint.com is having a GREAT sale for UPromise Members. Login through your UPromise account and go to the vistaprint site through there.

For example, I'm going to get 2 car magnets about 11x17" in size for $16+shipping and taxes I assume. AWESOME! I got a quote from Fast Signs and for 2 12x24 magnets it was $75 + taxes. This deal is for most of their products I think...premimum biz cards, post cards, etc.

I think the sale ends at the end of June!

Great topic. Thanks for posting. I would say that I HAD really good luck with Craigslist within the year but that has died down. I think paid classified ads for me has been a blessing.
I'm going to work on a blog but need to learn more about that

Welcome to the forum Kim!

I think there is something about blogging somewhere in here, just use the search function. I've found a lot of great info about advertising so I'm sure blogging is somewhere in here.

I remember reading that there are two great possibly free places to blog...was CafeMom one of them?? Hopefully someone can confirm this for me .

Social networking is a good way to get free traffic to your business.

Myspace is my favorite.

I good friend of mine is using youtube and he is generating lots of business through his videos.

I just got my flip cam, going to start posting my videos soon.

You may find some free places to Blog at his link. It is the top 100 Business Blogs, (in someones opinion) but I have found it to be a good resource with highly ranked and trafficked pages.

Yes, I have heard people being successful with YouTube. I would love to learn more on that as well.

Do you all find that ezines work. I had luck a while back but then went dry. wondering if others have advertised in ezines??
