Hah! Once again I pop into the forum only to see that Yuliya has fully responded as I would have.
In addition to what she said, you have to realize that even if you ARE passionate and head-over-heals in love with your business idea, there will STILL be tedium and annoyances and completely unglamorous stuff to do. As the CFO of an engineering company I can tell you that absolutely most people are NOT in love with taxes -- but they still have to do them every year. ![]() Quote:
Five years ago I ran a marathon to celebrate my 40th birthday (using the term "celebrate" very loosely!). In order to train I went to Runner's World and used their 5-month marathon training plan. I followed through with my commitment (with the exception of one of the very long runs) and I succeeded. But what if I had committed to train by using the Half-Pound-Bacon-Burger-a-Day method? Had I "followed through with my commitment" I probably would have had liver failure or something. ![]() See what I mean? Mostly, I think, we need to infuse a good does of common sense into the home business equation. Home business is JUST BUSINESS. It's not some magical other-worldly thing just because you run it from home. And if no one wants to buy your product or service, it's not going to be a SUCCESSFUL business. Best, Alison

I do network marketing and for me, that is the best business for me to do from home. I've done it for years and I love it. But, it isn't something that everyone will enjoy or be good at. It requires consistency, patience, and the ability to treat it as the real business that it is. What company? There are many, many choices I strongly suggest doing your homework. Not all network marketing companies will offer the opportunity you are looking for. Plenty will, so narrow your list and then do some head to head comparisons. Don't buy into they hype and the talk of overnight riches!!
Network marketing is an extremely lucrative business but you need to learn the ropes to be successful with it and you must apply what you learn consistently! Getting with the right company is your first step, educating yourself is your next step! A consumable product is a must! A good comp plan that is in your favor is a must! Proper training & education is a must!! Start off right and continue on, expect consistent growth but don't expect overnight wealth! This conversation reminds me of something another network marketer once told me........ "Just because you drive a Chrysler doesn't mean you want to sell them. Find the product that everyone wants and join that company. If you are serious about building an income, that is the fastest way to do it" Now, I found that comment interesting and understand the validity of it but for me.........I needed not only the product people wanted but the one I LOVED. For me, that is as important as the money so I searched until I found it. But, his comment does make sense. I also believe with network marketing a newbie needs a true sponsor! Sponsors do not recruit! They sponsor which is an ongoing process of helping, teaching, etc. It is so easy for a newbie to get lost and discouraged if they do not have the support system they need. IMO newbies need to borrow their sponsors knowledge, faith, etc. until they develop their own. Kind of like teach them well and then let them spread their wings and fly!!! |
