I'm wondering if anyone is willing to share the affiliates they've tried and if they liked or didn't like them. I have adsense but so far don't find it great, I like the one through Qumana much better. I have CJ but they take foreeever to approve you or NOT approve you even the ones I have aren't great. Amazon, nothing yet. Clickbank, didn't like the merchants. Sharesales same as CJ Would anyone be willing to share? *wasn't approved by bloggative since *I assume* it was my blog is fairly new. TIA!!

Hi gals (and guys)- I've been "lurking" in this folder for a few days now trying to learn all I can. A huge "thank you" to all that contribute. I so appreciate all the information and direction you provide. The reason I'm piping in now is to pass on something I came across up in the Telecommuting folder. I thought maybe it'd show up here, but not yet, so here it is: http://www.adreporting.com/affiliate...hp?refaid=6884 07 Perhaps this is something of benefit to bloggers?

I'm very cynical when it comes to affiliate programs. I think it requires a great deal of work to keep traffic moving through your blog in order to raise chances of click throughs and orders. One program that I have now that I'm hoping will eventually yeild an income is www.diet.com. This is an online weight management program whereby you subscribe for a number of months or for a year. As a result, I can make a nice amount of money from anyone who signs up from my banner. I checked it out first and what I like about it is that it has nothing to do with buying their pre-packaged food or taking their vitamin supplements. It's really much more about a mind/body connection and using that knowledge to control eating. There is tons of informaiton and message boards. I won't have an affiliate that I can't relate to or support in some way. The ony other affiliates I have kept are Amazon, Benefit Cosmetics (which I love because of the free shipping policy) and NuGlow, which is a wonderful anti-aging skin care regimen. I think that just being patient, eventually something is going to yeild some income.

Why is it that you guys don't like clickbank?

i don't know...I don't like clickbanks ads but maybe it's my category. My blog is aboutfitness and a lot of their ads are about diets that I don't really believe in so I don't want use them. I haven't looked at their other categories.

You could write a negative review about the diet and include the clickbank link. You are giving your readings an informed opinion. With google adsense the more traffic you have the more money you will earn.

I agree with Gayla about Clickbank, I felt like a sleazy used car salesman. I don't like the programs they promote or the things they are allowing themselves to be affiliated with. I have nothing against making money but my whole niche is working at home honestly to make money. Here is an example: Dataentrypro and ahundred othersupposed dataentry companiescharge people around a $100 to get information on how to make money by signing up with clickbank and placing ad's through adwords and then making money off any commissions generated. I don't think you will ever see linkshare, or CJ allowing that kind of thing to happen. They just seem a little sleazy and "off" and Im just not willing to risk my reputation by promoting them. Please no bashing.. this is just my opinion. Connie |
