New to Avon but having some luck at it! Yay!

Hi everyone!

I'm new to Avon and really enjoying it. Right now I am focusing on sales, but would like to start recruiting as well. I'm a little nervous about that!

My sales are really great, though, and I'm on track to make P.C. this year.

One thing that is really helping me is a book I got over the holidays after I signed up to be an Avon rep. I got it at Amazon. It's called "100 Ways to Sell Avon" and it is on sale at Amazon right now. It has different tips on each page and some of those tips are pretty smart. I'm using that and also networking with my other stay at home mom friends and selling to them.

Does anyone have any advice about how I can start recruiting? My unit leader who signed me up just had a baby a few days ago, LOL, so she isn't much help right now.

Let your District sales manager know you want to get active. Many do "customer searches" and have recruitathons.

Also, even though your UL is homebound right now, let her know also. She may not be able to go "out" with you right now, but she knows what it took her to achieve UL.

When you hand out a book, automatically invite them to join. Start planting those seeds. Let ppl know its only $10 (face to face) to join.
I even put a sticker on the cover of all books that invites them to join.

Remember the book is your store, the more you hand out, the more that know about you. I heard at a meeting that the average successful representative buys about 300 books each campaign. (AND hands them out) ... again, its exposure you need, both for sales AND for recruiting.

If you invite and they say no... ask who they know. Always ask for referrals both in sales and in recruiting. Again... you are planting those seeds.

Hi Pru,

It's great that things are going well so far with Avon. Don't be nervous about recruiting you'll get use to get once you get the hang of it. Reading some personal developments should be helpful. I'm not with Avon but my team tells us it's important to read some type of book for personal development or listen to something everyday.

You can also "ask" your DSM if she has outdated books
Put a sticker on them stating "look what you missed" for the current brochure or to Join, call me at......
