This may be a dumb question, but where you usually purchase your boxes, envelopes, etc. for shipping? Just from the post office or drugstore?

Also, can you ship clothes in padded envelopes (if you sell an outfit or two in one auction) or do you just use boxes?

Thanks.

I order all the free Priority supplies from the USPS website. There are some clothing items that I ship in Tyvek envelopes ... if they're good enough for catalog companies, they're good enough for me! smileys/smiley2.gif If I'm selling lots or heavier items (jackets, jeans), I use boxes.<!--

Thanks! What do you use if you just ship items byregular mail? Or do you ship everything Priority?

Where do youpurchase the Tyvek envelopes?

I ship everything Priority ... I print out shipping labels from my printer (through PayPal) and I get the free delivery confirmation. (If you accept PayPal, always</span> ship with delivery confirmation)

I get the tyvek envelopes right from the USPS website - if you ship Priority, you can get get all your supplies for free and they will deliver them right to your house.

You can also find the Tyvek envelopes (plain white) at Staples. A box is something like $12.

Hello! I buy polmailers from here http://www.realezsites.com/bus/jeffreysfashions_mailers.com/ (http://www.realezsites.com/bus/jeffreysfashions_mailers.com/) They are cheap and easy!! I don't shipping everything Priority, because I think it may turn some buyers away that don't want to pay that price, therefore offering First Class is cheaper for them, $7.99 for 100, you can't beat that! I don't pad my clothing items, that just adds on weight! I may stick them in a clear plastic baggie, then in a polymailer, and send it! For bigger things sometimes I ship Priority but most of the time I buy boxes from Office Depot!! They are usually on sale, buy 2 get one free! Hope this helps you!!

I usually use poly envelopes that I buy off ebay. I also recycle boxes for items that do not fit in the envelopes.

I mostly use the tyvek bags and padded enveloped (with the bubble-wrap type stuff inside) that I buy at Sam's Club (discount membership store). I always shipped clothing inside of these.

I get all my boxes from the local gift shops and stores, they usually are more than happy to give them. I get my packing tape at the dollar store so it's only a buck and bunches of tissue paper too, people seems to like the extra touch.

For Priority Mail, definitely the free boxes, they are free and delivery of them is free. But you have to keep in mind that this will reaise the shipping price for small items and you might end up making less. For smaller items, I use bubble mailers. I get those on eBay in bulk lots of 50 to 200, and they are quite cheap per mailer in bulk. If it is a large item that is not going Priority mail, I buy sturdy Uhaul boxes- they are a little over $2 but worth the price.

For lighter clothing items I always ship 1st class in a poly mailer, then on heavier items when it is more cost effective I ship priority, and either use the free supplies or occasionally still use poly mailers. Also for lighter Toys I use padded bubble mailers, but Priority boxeswhen they are larger or are collectibles.

BUT all my international shipments go into boxes!

ETA: I get supplies on eBay from threerb...great service!Edited by: mtmacc

public storage is a really good place to get boxes too, the last one i went to had great prices.

you can usually get free boxes at grocery stores or at a book store. They pay to have the card board dumpster emptied
