Michele wrote in my post: Wooohooo! So you found a unit in your area? GOOD FOR YOU!!! Welcome aboard. What's your first goal?
My first goal as I wait for my kit and training, is to get my house in order. Time to organize office space, time to rid of clutter. Out with the old and in with the New! And Michele the organizer, knows how important that is!
I am planning my first Spa Party! I have been blessed with friends in my life that do love me. Friends that will want to see me succeed in what ever it is that I do. Not to mention a wonderful Mom. So, I was thinking, for my first party I will have a friends party and my Mom will be the guest of honor. I like the mystery party idea with the tickets given etc, so I think who ever wins in tickets will get to be the hostess that gets the other special gifts and offers. But my intention is to spoil my Mom. My reasons are, I want to plant the idea in the minds that being a hostess not only offers you the opportunity to be the one who is pampered and spoiled, but you can also as a hostess select someone dear to you to get the royal treatment. To plant the idea, that having a Spa party is a wonderful gift to give as well as receive. And it gives me the opportunity to show my affection and love to my Mom as it is truly given out of love.

Love your idea about pampering your Mom -- my Mom is getting a lot of this even before the spa! I would love to do this, but I am not sure my mom is going to make it due to having to be out of town a
lot with her dad in the hospital, so I was trying to think of ideas.
I, too, am new (just went to BeautiU Saturday -- AWESOME!). In an effort to jump start things, I scheduled a spa with myself as the hostess for this week -- just inviting family/friends to share my new business and be my guinea pigs. I have been struggling with how to show them how special we treat hostesses since I am technically the hostess.
My trainer had the suggestion that if you are trying to get bookings (which I think is the most important thing for us newbies right now :-), you can fill the hostess envelopes, fan them out on the table and then put a sticker inside 1-2. Offer a prize to the person who gets the sticker, but they don't get the evelope to see until AFTER they write their name on your calendar.
She had mentioned a mini or something, but I was thinking that it would be cool to make one prize the free product that the hostess would normally get, and then and one other prize could be a mini or something. The person who books and gets that night's free product gets a double bonus since they'll get free product at their own spa, too. This would obviously be only a one time thing, or whenever I needed to throw my own party to jump start things. I figure I'll put out 5 hostess envelopes, and 2 will have some sort of prize. Even if the 2 prize ones are the only ones selected, I'll have 2 bookings!
Sorry to ramble so... Do any of you more seasoned folks have thoughts on this? Does it seem like it would be a workable idea, or is it too over the top?
Thanks!!

You ladies have great ideas!!
And Joie - your idea about the hostess having guest of honor is great - at the very first spa I went to (the first time I'd ever heard of BC btw) the hostess gave her foot soak to our friend who was about 7 months pregnant. I thought that was wonderful! (And I booked from that spa, signed up at mine and the rest is history! LOL!)
Good luck to both of you!!
