Hey girls,
I'm trying to help my Director spice up our unit meeting!! Any ideas?? Do your Directors play upbeat music to get everyone excited at the beginning?? Do they play games? Snacks? I've heard stories of Angela Brown's meetings being so exciting!...Has anyone attended one of her meetings? Let me know if you have any ideas! Anything would be helpful!

Speaking from personal experience.....
People will come once because of the enthusiasm of the person that invited them and what they "perceive" the benefits of attending to be.
They will only RETURN if they walked away with a "feeling" that means something to them. For some, that feeling involves having something "concrete" that they can duplicate/use immediately. For others, its the connection with other people and the emotional stroking they get when being involved in a group of positive people. Others have another reason.
General rule of thumb - follow the outline that corporate sends out to Directors because it has all of the aspects of a successful meeting and is designed to support that month's promotions and products. They have rewards/recognition, something on booking/selling/recruiting, an educational theme, ordering incentive and challenge for the month coming. Simple and short.
Reba Johnson in Alabama has her husband "dance" and teach those attending how to do the cheetah dance, others have something that is unique to their very own unit. We got to see a personal demonstration at our regional DIQ/Director meetings on Sunday morning and I must say that I was completely BLOWN AWAY at how fun and motivational it was. I'm not in a place to see myself offering something such as she does but I can certainly see it working for her. She has over 100 in attendance at each meeting each month and her unit is kicking butt and taking names.
Encourage your director to find a healthy balance between "entertaining" those who attend........ with "coaching" them towards success. Meetings should/could be lots of fun - but they are primarily to help people be successful with their own life skills and business practices. Leaders can quickly expend tons of energy and money in meetings that really don't produce returns that match or exceed the investment.
The empowering music and motivational music is MUST at meetings...jmo. I have a list somewhere of some suggested songs to use if you are interested.
