View Full Version : Redirects?

Hi there. I am considering becoming an Arbonne consultant (to begin with, at leastsmileys/smiley32.gif) and have been reading the posts in this forum.

Would someone kindly let me know the status of redirects? I read the posted reason regarding this issue. It seems that the redirectwould be such a valuable tool, it doesn't make sense that a company who appears to provide the tools to succeed, would impair a company representative in this way.

Thanks in advance for your input.

As far as I know, the redirect clause in the business policy stands.

.9. Redirecting URLs
Consultants shall only use the URL assigned to their MyArbonne.com website to direct web traffic to that site. Consultants shall not use any other domain name or URL and redirect web traffic to their MyArbonne.com website from such other URL.

I'm not clear on why they this policy was instated. I agree that using one's own domain name is very useful!

Well that stinks! Some things click better with folks memory than a long url. How do you have the Cert. Vegan Skin Care & Nutrition? Is it just in the siggy, not an actual redirect?

When using a website through the company, do you choose what the address is before .myarbonne.com?

Thanks for the response!

I personally don't think it's such a big deal to not be able to have a redirect. Actually, I know several Area Managers who don't even have a website!

Just pick your own easy to remember catchy name... mine is simply my first name- www.Cassandra.MyArbonne.com (http://www.Cassandra.MyArbonne.com). You can come up with anything you want.

I agree with Teresa. I just became a consultant and looked up others in my area and I would say not even 5% have a website. I ended up getting one and used my name: www.apnelms.myarbonne.com (http://www.apnelms.myarbonne.com)

Make sure to send out a blast email to everyone you know and include your website link if you decide to get one. If they want somethingthey will call or link to yoru site. I have been with other direct sales companies in the past and most of them don't even have the capabilities that Arbonne does w/ the website. For example, Southern Living- your customers can't order online, you have to have a minimum before placing an order and all of that order has to go to the same place. I think Arbonne is great the way your customers can go to your website or even arbone's and just order what they want!

Good Luck!

I paid 90.00 total for my own personal website that I sell my art
from and have WAY more control and features available to me like
forums, a gallery, design options, detailed web stats, etc. To someone
who is new to website design the Arbonne templates are fairly user
friendly and it is good to keep uniformity for the company and it's
policies. The 120 price tag is a bit steep and the hosting company is
making good money there.

Hopefully as things go along they will loosen up a bit on the website
restrictions. I have an Arbonne website and find it very helpful to direct
potential customers and business builders there as well.

I am also going to write to Arbonne asking permission to link from
my personal site to my Arbonne site. The two are apples and
oranges but I get an average of 75 hits per day on my own site and
could utilyze that traffic on my Arbonne site. We'll see what they say.smileys/smiley5.gif

having the myarbonne website and the way it is set up easily allows people to shop directly from your website, and sign up as either a consultant or client. You could just give them your ID and have them go directly to arbonne.com but it's just easier for them to do it through a myarbonne website. I agree that the $120 is steep, but your not just getting a website, your getting those capabilities also.

I think the $120 is very resonable because you are not just getting web hosting. But when someone orders you're getting shopping cart capibilites, credit card processing, order processing, and packing and shipping. If you were hosting a site on your own I would think these services would be extra. Not to mention your time to process all the orders. smileys/smiley2.gif

I had looked at an affiliate site with another company that gave you a mirror site and handled all the orders and you got a commision. No other compensation just the commission. So you had to promote the site to get sales, the upfront cost was $600! I'm glad I passed. smileys/smiley4.gif

I hadn't thought of the shipping aspect, lol...I stand corrected. I do
have shopping carts set up on my site for certain art pieces and
although it didn't take long to set up...when they sold and I had to do
all the packing and shipping...well that takes up quite a bit of time. smileys/smiley5.gif

Still, I do wish that the counter was a bit more detailed. It really
helps to know where your traffic is coming from. When adding to search
engines, passing out your card, or using advertisements, it would be
more helpful to know what is working and what isn't don't you
think?

Is it possible to add the question of how someone found you when they placean order? If not,I would suggest it to corporate. As a business person in several industries previously, I know it is extremely valuable knowledge. Another suggestion is that when you do a followup personally thanking the customer for allowing you to help provide their beauty/vitamin/baby care needs, you could ask them. You could also do a blast email with a survey to better know your customers and pose this as one of the questions.

I used to have an online business and enjoyed the freedom of tailoring it myself. I have to agree with the poster who included packing time, credit card processing, etc. The perceived overhead on a website can bemisleading. When you tally it allup, it is less than a brick & mortar (which I also had) but expensive just the same.

If there are several consultants in your area, how are the leads given out? Is it based on sales or next in line? I don't have a website yet but if it means I could geta few extra clients, then I'm all for it.

If I remember right it goes by volume. I'm not 100% sure but I believe that's what I have been told! Hope that helped a little!

It also goes by area. If there is an inquiry it usually goes to the
closest consultant. I live in an area where Arbonne is pretty much an
open territory and there's only a few people doing it. I've gotten a
few inquiries based on my location.

Right, that's what I meant it goes by area first, but if there a a lot of consultants in your area, then it goes to the person with the highest volume I believe.
