Are any of you active with fundraising? This is an area I would love to get into and would love to hear your ideas. I had a bad experience with the only one I ever did with Affordable Luxuries. The fundraiser ended right before I went into labor with my son. I planned on coming back to tie things up and get the order placed. I came home from the hospital to the email that AL had closed their doors. *Yikes* It was a mess. The outside co that AL sold candles through pulled through with fulfilling the order, but it took a long time, items had to be substituted, I made a couple mistakes, because I was sleep deprived and exhausted. Since then, I've been gun shy to try any more. I know these were circumstances beyond my control, but it's been holding me back. I'm ready toaccept it as a learning experienceand stop getting in my own way!
I'd love to hear your successes and tips!
Thanks ~ Jennifer

I'm talking to a couple of pop warner coaches about fundraisers. Nothing is definite yet, but teams are always in need of money so I'm really expecting something good to come out of this!
I will definitely let you all know how this turns out!

I did a couple of small ones. They went really smooth because there were only a couple people selling the candles, so it wasn't hard to organize it all.
I have a fundraising document that I made for my team (the back office one but I added a few things andmore ideas in it). If you would like I can email you a copy. smileys/smiley1.gif

Guys how do you go about finding out who is in charge of fundraising say at a local high school or where do you find the local sports teams info etc.?

Contact the school's office and ask them. Generally it's the PTA when it comes to "whole school fundraisers", however there are some classes that do their own fundraisers so be sure to find out about that as well. Sometimes it's band (to raise money for uniforms or trips), foreign language classes, sports, the drama club, etc. See if there is a website for the school - some teachers you can contact via e-mail directly.

I have a question myself about fundrasiers. Say we want to promote the holiday scents and make it a xmas time fundrasier. How much in advance do we need to take orders to ensure that the candles arrive in time for the holidays?

The best place to get an answer for this would be headquarters. Volume increases for them on a daily basis and they are able to keep up with our traditional orders beautifully, but to be sure on the fundraiser (and it probably depends on the # of cases ordered), I'd say give them a call for a definite answer.

How much do you usually make per candle with your fundraisers (after shipping, etc)?
Thanks!
Thanks!
