Hi All! I am talking to a "new" friend of mine, I met her in my daughters gymnastic class, about joining Arbonne. She has explained the Pup system to me and I plan on going to a meeting, I still have many more questions. I've just stumbled onto this board, and boy am I glad I did! My question to you all here is how much money should I "invest" in Arbonne? She's telling me that it would cost me about $2,000. Does this seem right? Or is she trying to make some money for herself? Everything I've researched about this company seems to be totally legit, but with some of the postings I've been reading I'm wondering if this lady has my best interests in mind. Thank you so much for your help and comments!

Hi Metoo,
I am also with Arbonne. I have not been actively building my business but I can tell you that I should not cost you that much to run this business smileys/smiley18.gif smileys/smiley5.gif . Did she tell you what that 2,000 was for? When I joined, it cost me 29.00 plus shipping. I do not carry any inventory and I order when someone asks me to or I need somethng for myself.
Ask all the questions you want here. Everyone is always willing to help. Call the company directly! Do you research, please!!!!!!! Let us know if you have any other questions.

Natalie is right, it only cost $29 to become an independant consulatant. Then you have the right buy at 35% off for yourself and to sell. How much you spend after that is up to you. It will be your business so you can do puppies or presentations or any way that best suits you. From what I have read it is against Arbonne policy to tell you that youHAVE to spend any amount above the $29. I would ask lots of questions and check it out with the company.

Metoo,
You can definitely start the business with $29. However, I would suggest having some inventory on hand, especially if you plan on doing parties, dropping off puppy dogs, or handing out samples. What you'll get for your $29 is a business pack that's great for getting you motivated, but has no supplies.
So far, I've probably investedabout $1200 in the business, which includes a couple RE-9 sets, lots ofother products (everyone LOVES the sea salt scrub, for example), sample packs, and business aids.
The company IS completely legit and everyone I've met has been wonderful and extremely supportive. If you decide to go forward with Arbonne, I'm sure you'll be thrilled with the company.
Hope that helped!

This is the new training that some of the NVP's and RVP's are using to
get people to buy inventory for "puppies". You DO NOT HAVE TO BUY
ANY INVENTORY! It costs $29 to get your own account number and
then you are immediately eligible for the 35% discount on any order for
ANY amount. You do, however, receive any ONE product free if you
place a $100 ($65 your cost) product order with your sign up.
If the upline is not willing to show you how to do the business without
investing so much money, don't sign with them. Find someone who will
help you start at YOUR pace.
The pup system is working for some people, but it is not neccessary to
invest $2,000 to participate in this type of system. If you can
only afford one set to loan out then that is how you can
start. Don't let her talk you into anything you can't
afford.
I think this is going to begin to be a huge problem for Arbonne if it
is not brought under control. I see a future of a lot of mis-led
men and women. Arbonne has always advertised that there is no
inventory required to start this business. So much for that
idea. Telling someone they need to invest $2,000 in order
to do the business is just plain wrong in my opinion.

Let me share with you some good new about the pups......you can do it alot cheaper...and dont be swayed into buying more than you can afford..its WRONG. The RE9 sets are the pups I use..however, with summer heat and all,,Im finding people are not using the lift correctly, and it peels and looks bad..they areprobably not used to usingso many products and I think the 5 products are enough..Im not including night cream as I used to because it is so rich, remember, most people have been using gross ingredients on their face, the RE9 should feel awesome but they have to purge the impurities and im finding the night cream is too rich for summer on most people. So, instead of buying the RE9, my suggestion is separate products, the cleanser, the toner, eye cream, serum and day cream. then the bag will be $10, but you are getting the set now for like $125.......a better deal. Then if they love the pup, tell them, surprise, you also get 2 other products when you buy your set, a special lift for a night out..and a $72 night cream..they get excited! Thats my plan to hep save money..hope it helps you.Arbonne is all about helping each other and i think ,or shall I say I fear, some folks are getting greedy and convincing people to invest thousands in puppys...thats how so many people were promoted. I say do what works for YOU..and please let us know how you make out!!
Good wishes

Telling someone they need to invest $2,000 in order to do the business is just plain wrong in my opinion. I agree, Cheryl. Arbonne has also recently stated that it is wrong. They want everyone to know that it only costs as little as $29.
However, the consultant was most likely talking about the REsults set option (from the REsults approach, formerly the unauthorized Puppy Dog). One of the suggested sets is $960, so if you purchase two, it would be close to $2000.
Now, if someone would have approached me about Arbonne like this, there is no way I would have signed up. JMO. Lucky for us, though, that with Arbonne we do have the freedom to invest a lot or a little ... and both ways work!

To get access to the computer and make your orders (whether they are for you or a customer) it is $29. No monthly quotas.
You then decide how you want to run your business. You can do the Puppy Dog approach. You can do the party approach. You can do nothing. If you do the Puppy Dog approach, you will start up a little different than someone that does the party approach. You will need to decide how many pups you want (the RE9 sets). You can pup with 1, you can pup with 2, or you can pup with as many as you want (3,4,5,7, etc). The sets are $266 retail ($172.90 wholesale). If you choose to start off with 5 pups (1 for your personal use, 4 to pup out), you will start off investing $960 (or somewhere in that range). If you decide that you want to invest with 2 pups (1 for your personal use and 1 to pup out), you can purchase one pup for $266 retail and then build your other pup with your $100 for $20 plus your free product with the $29 start up fee.
So basically what I'm trying to say is, $2000 is what some may invest. But you don't have to. My team operates solely on the pup system. It has worked for them. We all invested different amounts. There is more to it than just this but I really don't want to get into it here. If you want more info on it, PM me.

When I started with Arbonne, I "Arbonnized" my home with the Right Start Value Pack ($700 worth of products for $350), my free product I picked the night cream. From that RSVP, I got 2 RE9 sets, some sea salt scrubs a few Aromaessentials and some About Face color. When I realized that I wanted to 'run with' the REsults approach- I placed an order for 2 RE9 sets, wholesale $345.80, and with the 'host special' $200 in products for $40, I ordered pieces for another set- wash, toner, serum, day cream, eye cream. I already had the night cream from my free product, all that was missing was the Transforming Lift so I added that to the regular order. So, all that to say, I had 5 RE9 sets (one for me andfour pups) at a cost of little under $750, not including taxes/shipping. 2 of those first 4 ended up becoming business builders and I since have been using only 2 pups, which works great for me during the summer (3 kids). Once school starts back, I'll more than likely get a few more. That's what's so great about Arbonne, YOU work it the way YOU want! I agree with the others- if this person isn't willing to work with YOU on the amount YOU are comfortable with, find someone else who will. Let her know that you know it's not a requirement to invest that much or to stock inventory.
It's sad smileys/smiley19.gifto think that some lose sight about what Arbonne is all about, it's about helping others, not tricking others. I'm looking forward to Dr Shad Helmstetters book "The Gift"!

Arbonne has already addressed this. It is against policy for people to be telling people they have to invest more than the start up price. Once Arbonne became aware they started getting it under control. They aren't going to let anything hurt the great reputation they have and have earned.

Obviously, some aren't getting the message that it is against policy. I
suppose if Arbonne terminated a few of the ones that continue this
practice, that would get everyone's attention in a hurry. I don't
think any of the Mercedes drivers would want to have their business
swept out from under them for not following policy.

I would assume that she "suggested" this to you to get you started on the right foot. If you are going to puppy systems out, you will need a few systems to get you started.
On the other hand as well, if you feel that your business is going to take off, I would suggest buying RSVP1, color, and then RSVP2 (buying the color will put you in qualification for RSVP2). This will get you all your products for personal use, class use, and your makeup for makeup demos.
When I started, I only purchased RSVP1. I qualified for RSVP2 shortly after based on my sales, so I bought that....and then I ended up buying the color because I had clients wanted to see/ try it. So, in all I ended up spending the money anyway (a month later) rather than buying it all in one package.

AMEN! I would $29 and RSVP if you want some boost but please do not think you have to do $2000. Although if you sign up with her and want her results then you may want to follow the leaders. I currently have 10 pups but had to wait for my daughters all star soft ball games and practices to end. I have my first meeting in the morning in WVA! Wish me luck!

I did the $100 sign up. $29 sign up fee and the rest gave me the day cream, night cream wash and scrub. My spsonsor did my first two parties for me and used her products. I gradually added products as I could afford them, but only ordered products that I was going to use personally. You don't need to invest a lot of money i this biz. Good luck

After trying so many other network marketing progams out, I found success at Arbonne! I only invested $129 and I have a great start.
