Where can I get small containers for samples? I have ordered small jars once before on the internet, but I cannot remember the name of the website where I got them.

try www.simplebeaute.com (http://www.simplebeaute.com). This is Robert Jones' website - he's a makeup artist affiliated with Mary Kay.

I have ordered from Paron Business aids, they have several sizes. I have been using the polystrip ones that are like paintpots you used to get with paint by number kits, for the mineral foundation so people can take a bit with them to try.

It is against Arbonne policy to repackage any of the products.

Does anyone know why we don't have samples of things like the aromatherapy items, individual samples of the new TFM, etc. I figure since the TFM has been added to the Intelligence line that's why we can't get it separately...anyone know?

That is a good question, Kiana's mom...There are things people want to try and cannot if we don't have samples available. I don't see the big deal of letting people take home a bit of the mineral powder to try at home, I don't see how that can be considered 'repackaging'. They are at a class or demo, they want to take two colors home to try in their own bathroom on a clean face in the lighting they are used to seeing their makeup in. I scoop out a tiny bit and put them in a plastic snap top container for them. Same with the protein shakes, I might put a scoop or two in a ziplock bag so they can take it home to make a shake with it. How else are people supposed to try these products? I had someone just buy 2 mineral powders and return the one they didn't want. That is a hassle, costs a lot in shipping and seems to me to be a waste of product, since the return then has to be destroyed. I have written them before about how to sample items and they just said not to repackage them or relabel them.

I don't see the difference between, a)being at a class/demo and dipping into something like the salt scrub to try it right there and b)dipping into it, getting a scoop and putting it in a container to try when they get home in the shower.

Well, @rbonne does see the difference. We are not permitted to
repackage the product, even if it is inconvenient for us.

Arbonne does provide samples of the foundation colors. If a
client wants to try it on a clean face, I always offer to do a one on
one. That's actually a great way to boost sales. People
generally buy more one on one than they do individually in a class
situation.

Sometimes it seems as though we as consultants know better than
@rbonne. If that's the case for you, let them know how you feel
about it and maybe they'll change the policy. Until it's
changed, abide by the rules they have in place.

I did let Arbonne know, but my one little voice hasn't done anything yet.

I know there are samples for the foundations, but the mineral powders are so different, they take a bit of getting used to, and people like to have the luxury of tinkering with them a bit. I can't figure out a way to let people 'try before they buy' with some of the products that ARbonne doesn't have samples for. I have 4 kids and cannot do one on ones all the time. I guess I will just keep trying to convince people to order and deal with the hassle of returns if it doesn't work out.

I have been reading the policy book more closely and was also surprised to read that we are not allowed to use our credit/debit card to pay for anyone else's product. Meaning if they write us a check or give us cash and we use our card to pay for it, that is not allowed. I guess this is in case of returns, which I can understand, since I jad to return something for someone and the credit has to go on my card and I pay her back. But I was certainly trained to take cash and checks and use my one designated "Arbonne credit card" to pay for the whole order at once to make it simpler.

Seems like many policies are fudged on, it is hard to keep up with what is a 'rule' or 'policy' and what is a suggestion...I am not saying I think I know better than arb0nne how to run a company, but I know what has worked for me personally in my approach, and if all of these things are against policy, then I don't know how much I want to work the biz anymore. I don't want to be breaking rules in a company I believe in and respect, so I need to do some thinking about it...I am not going to be one of those people who says, "oh, that rule is stupid so I am not going to follow it." No matter how many other people are doing it.

You can purchase tiny plastic 'solo' containers at most party stores...they
come with a lid that you can then put a pretty sticker on..but ummm of
course not for repackaging purposes...;).
Here is a nice touch for nighttime parties- the arbonne paper bags make a
nice luminaire... place about an inch of sand into the bag and a tealight
candle-outside to welcome the guests..along the pathway..or on the porch
or entry to the host's home. First impression-wow em'

Good luck..chin's up.

Here is the Arbonne policy, verbatim:

"3.2 Arbonne products may only be sold in their original packages. Consultants shall not repackage, re-label, or tamper in any way with any product packaging."

The way this provision isconstructed, it is about repackagingfor SALE.(Someone who makes a commission offwhat you buy is going to want totell you that samples aren't allowed. But the policy speaks for itself.) Edited by: justcara
