Hi,

I am interested to know how saturated your market is where you are?
Have most people heard about BC or is it new to them? Do you have lots
of competition with other companies like Arbonne or Mary Kay?

It seems like everybody here has heard of BC or been to a party or they
use Arbonne or Mary Kay products. There are tons of BC consultants in
my area too.

Any tips on how to stand out and get those bookings even though the market is somewhat saturated?

In Kalamazoo, MI..I had never heard of BeautiControl until I was invited to one of my husbands Co-workers spa escapes. I thought WOW something new and something I could actually use ALOT! We have ALOT ofMK consultants in Kalamazoo, I use to be a MK consultant a few years ago..and everytime I approached someone, they already had a consultant so it was very hard for me to do well.

I don't think there is much competition, for the simple fact BC has alot of spa products and thats something we didn't have in MK. When I sold MK it was mostly about the makeup and skincare...in BC we can also offer spa products..whichall of my friends are going crazy over! One of my bestfriends sell MK but she also loves BC products too..;o) It might be different in other area's of michigan..but for me..its GREAT! And as for Arbonne...never heard of that around here either until my sister mentioned it..so not sure about that one yet. I just know I love BC!

I wish BeautiControl had more name recognition where I live. There are a handful of consultants here, (1 is my personal) but it doesn't seem like they are working their business. I have no competition getting booths and when I talk to people they had never heard of BC. Lack or name recognition has great rewards if you can convince them to try the product and book a party! Until recently, most of my parties have been away from here. This weekend both of my parties are travelling ones. Monday I have 2 consultations at home. YEAH!

On a referral, I got a party booked 1 1/2 hours away from my house. I have gotten so many bookings from those parties! This area has tons of consultants for BeautiControl. The reason I am getting the bookings is because of my personality and the factI do not chase people around with a consultant agreement and pen all night long.

As far as saturation is concerned: there will always be other party plans out there. Sensaria is a "hot" one in my area. Our spa parties have been compared to theirs over and over again. But you know, we are simply the best when it comes to our spa parties!

I do mary kay and beauti control .

I like mk's skin care and color compacts because they are refillable but I like more of the spa products for extra treats from Beauti control.

OK I will say it I am a product pig so at least I am buying it wholesale. That is what I tell my husband anyway.smileys/smiley36.gif

Lots of BC in my area....2 or 3 directors..just that I know..plus who knows how many consultants, but.........I still run in to people that have never heard of it!!! I don't know how ... but they haven't. Our town is not big by any means, but not little bitty either, we are north of Sacramento CA which is the closest "large" city. Mary Kay is also very popular here, you see those signs in car windows all over....and still a couple of "pink" cars. I don't think we have any "Arbonne" I have never heard of that one, but we do have some "Jafra" consultants.

Sensaria is a skin care and spa company that is only a couple years old. Their wording and parties are very similiar to ours. They claim to have "all natural" ingredients. Their consultants can be quite nasty towards other companies.

Hi ladies,

I know im a little behind on this post but I was out of town for the past 4 days. There are not that many consultants in my area but there are a lot of Mary Kay consultants and that is causing me to have a hard time with bookings. It seems like every time that I approach someone about hosting a spa escape they assume that it's like mary kay and I have even had one lady tell me she wasnt into cults like mary kay. I wasnt really sure how to respond but i just thanked her for her time and walked away. I almost died laughing from her comment. Anyways long story short, there are not a lot of consultants, and I am having a tough time booking parties!!! Does anyone have any ideas on how to get bookings from approaching people I dont know, like say at the mall or at the store? Thanks Ladies!!!

I just booked a spa with the cashier at meijers yesterday...I was buying a few hand held back massagers and headbands..and told her how nice the back massagers will be at my spa escapes...she asked what a spa escape was...I told her then handed her the show of hands sample card...she was so excited that she booked one of her own right there..(I carry lil info pads on me at all times...that has a spot for their name, number, email addy, telephone number)...so that was great! ALWAYS carry a few samples with you and staple them toone of your business cards..and just start handing those out..and I bet you'll get a few sales or bookings that way too! IF they TRY the products..they will LOVE them! I buy the lil craft bead bags..and fill them with the Spa Minerals...because it smells soooo good.

I'm in Maryland (recruited from a unitinS.C.). I'm looking for a unit I can attend unit meetings with locally. I found someone in Elicott City (an hour away) but nobody closer yet. There's got to be someone out my way. I'm between Baltimore and Newark, DE.

I've never heard of ANY of these companies (even BC) until my sister in S.C. attended a spa and joined the co. She called me with her excitement and recruited me. I'm beginning to feel alone here.....smileys/smiley19.gif

You are never alone! Does your Director have a Yahoo or MSN group? You are in an awesome position to become the Director in your area!

I am out here by myself too. But I stay connected with my unit by emails and conference calls.

You also have us on the board to get great ideas from too!
