I am an empty nester and just went to a Silapia party. I thought it would be great fun. I am looking for advice on the best jewelry company to go with and the best jewelry to sell. I am more interested in the type of jewelry that sells well to a range of customer types. Thank you for your help.

Hey emptynester!!!! I would love to introduce you to Latasia Jewelry. We are a Fashion jewelry company that offers absolutely stunning pieces at extremely affordable prices backed by a lifetime guarantee!! Latasia is owned by Anthony Calandrelli who has been manufacturing jewelry for over 30 years for stores like Dillards, Belks, and many other upscale stores. One of his lines is named American Ring if that rings any bells. He also manufactured up until '99 for other jewelry party plans. This man knows his stuff!!
Our prices range from $5 to $175 and I would say the average price for a piece is $29. I have done parties for young women and for older women and my show average is over $700. So, I truly feel like Latasia absolutely sells to everyone. The Lord has blessed me beyond my imagination with this business! It is so great to be out there and not stressing over bookings or if I'm going to make anything that night.
We make 40% of our sales off the top when we start and once we've sold our first $1500 we keep 50% of the sales off the top from then on, wether we ever build a team or not. We have our kits at half price right now-$500 in jewelry for only $125 or $1000 in jewelry for only $250. You also get catalogs, order forms, invitations, training materials and much more but you don't pay for those.
You can view my site at the link below and if you'd like to see some of what we offer you can click on My Events on the front page of the site. Click on an upcoming Hostess' name and then Shop for Event. If you want to see our full line feel free to PM me here or email me at kkandrod@hughes.net and I'll be glad to email them out to you immediately as well as have Latasia send you an information packet to your home.
I am loving my Latasia business and do feel so blessed to be a part of such an amazing company. I pray you find the right one for you and if I can help you with anything at all, don't hesitate to let me know!!!

I am with lia sophia jewelry, and would love to give you more information about our company if you ar interested. We sell high quality fashion jewelry at affordably prices. Our company has been around for over 30 years and is a family owns business.
Every piece of our jewelry comes with a lifetime guarantee, which covers everything except for loss. This even includes if you just change your mind about a piece 5 years from now, you send it back and get full credit towards another piece!
As an advisor your get paid very well, and our costs of doing business is VERY low. Also, we have no inventory to keep, no deliveries to make, no returns to handle, and you only need $250 in sales every 3 months to stay active!
Our starter kit is only $99 and includes 12 pieces of jewelry valued between $450-$500. It also includes all training materials, a carry bag and tray, and enough catalogs and paperwork to do your first few shows!
As far as customer appeal, we have something to suit everyone's taste and budget. Our current catalog has over 500 pieces in it, and only 23 of those are over $100! We also have a very generous hostess plan. With a qualified show, ($250 in sales), a hostess will get 2 items at 1/2 price, 4 hostess bonus items, (Any item in the catalog $100 or less, she can for $15. If an item is over $100, then the price will be marked inthe book.), she will aslo get20% of her show sales in free jewelry. Also, if she gets 10 orders and 2 bookings, then she can double her free jewelry credit to 40% for only $15! Finally, we offer specials for customers as well. Every day of the year we offer our customers buy 2 items at regular price, get your third and MOST expensive item for 1/2 price! On top of that, the company will sometimes tweek the deal and offer certain pieces such as necklaces for 1/2 price as well.
Finally, the company offers loads of ways to earn jewelry for your kit for free. We have a program in your first 15 weeks where you can earn $600 worth of jewelry free. The company also offers monthly incentives where you can earn jewelry certificates, particular pieces, or sets of jewelry by simply meeting sales goals. (These are usually $2000 for one month.)
If you would like more information, please fell free to contact me. I look forward to talking to you.
Good luck with your hunt!

Hello Emptynester!
I can certainly relate to your wanting to get involved with a jewelry company. Before I became a consultant with Cookie Lee Jewelry (http://www.cookielee.com/mistywhorley)I researched all of the DS companies for months before making my final decision.
While, of course, I believe (and am sure) Cookie Lee is the best company around due to their great prices, quality and incentives, I am certain each consultant feels that way for the company they represent. Otherwise, they wouldn't be a consultant for them.
I think it is a good idea for you to gather information on each company as well as one of their catalogs, so that you can go through them all and make comparisons of which company offers what and if there are expectations. It will be a lot easier for you to have the information and catalogs in front of you to decide from. Also, once you have narrowed down your search, you may want to call the consultants of the companies you are still interested in and speak with them directly.
If you have a love for jewelry then I am certain you will do exceptionally well in the direct sales/ party plan business.
Below I will list a summary of what Cookie Lee offers:
50 %earned onALL jewelry sales
Designer Jewelry
FREE TRIPS & incentives
Car allowance
Actual showrooms where you can purchase your jewelry in person!!
Commissions
Start up Supplies and Training Materials
One on one training
NO requirements
Please feel free to pm me with your address and I will gladly send you an information packet along with a catalog. Or you can visit me at http://www.cookielee.com/mistywhorley (http://www.cookielee.com/mistywhorley) to request a catalog.

How does the showroom thing work with your company? Where are they located? It sounds like a unique concept.

points. Here are 2 more to check out:

Sarah Coventry (fashion)

Another new jewelry company is Jolica. They have been around for a year and a half. I love their jewelry. Silver and Gemstones. If I choose a company it would be this one. They are out of Canada, but they are in the process of putting a warehouse in New York.I was actually considering it. But I decided to sell candles right now. I may do this in the future.

I am thinking about becoming a jewelry rep but I am confused about all the different companies..
They all seem to have such beautiful jewelry.
I am trying to find out what kind of jewelry Premiere Designs sell. Is it sterling silver? I can't find info from their site.
Are Premiere reps allowed to have a web site?
Would like to hear from expereinced reps from all companies..
Thank You

Hey there! I know we have been in touch about Latasia Jewelry so you know the details of my company. I sent out an email last night to everyone that has expressed interest in Latasia. I just wanted to pop on and make sure you got it and to see if you received your information packet that I sent to you.
You are doing the right thing by doing your research. So many companies are different. Some have you carry inventory, some deliver to hostesses and guests. Some don't allow individual orders, some encourage it along with parties and events. Some you don't get paid up front, others you keep your commission off the top of any sale regardless of what type. Some pay hostess credits for you and take care of sales tax, some charge a small fee for the hostess credits and you submit your own sales tax. You make more commission from some than others. So, it all depends on what you are looking for in a company. The jewelry business is awesome and VERY profitable and there is a great variety of companies out there so I know you'll be able to find that perfect one!
If you'd like to talk some more about Latasia, just let me know. I'm available at any time!! Have a blessed night!!

April 26,
I am a Premier Design Consultant. It is an awesome company that has a great profit of 50% on sales. I've just started and only went to one meeting, but I was VERY impressed with the company and how they don't push sales and there is no inventory. They do not allow people to have web sites so we can build relationships with our customers and friends. Please PM me if you want information and I'd be glad to help or get you in touch with the right person with the answers! The jewelry is beautiful at an affordable price. There is some silver jewelry. They have an unbeatable satisfaction guarantee that is a definate plus for customers' peace of mind.
Good luck!

Hi,
I'm not with any jewelry company, but the difference between the two is that all of Silpada is silver. Premiere is "costume jewelry" and much more inexpensive. All of the jewelry companies have great jewelry. I would concentrate on 1. guarantees 2. hostess benefits and3. commission if I were pickingsmileys/smiley1.gif. Good luck!

Hi There!
I am also with Premier Designs, almost 4 years now.
***Hey 6Preciouskids...I have 6 children also.
Premier ismy full time careerand I am able to still be the mom I want to be.
We have everything from fine jewelry (sterling silver, pearlsand semi-precious stones) to high fashion jewelry (silver, rhodiumand gold plating along with crystalsand beadwork)
Therefore we have a wider range of marketability with price and style. Prices run from $10-$110. Overall average of $29 per piece.
We have a great Hostess plan that gives the average Hostess $200 in Free Jewelry of her choice.
We make 50% of our sells. We keep half and send Premier half....No waiting for a paycheck.
We make 10%from our Downline, 3 levels deep. Starting with the very first person and this never changes. Your downline will never break away from you, even if you bring someone in who passes you up in Leadership.
My husband is my biggest fan! He has gone from working 70 hours a week to doing some part-time work in his field (finance manager). Nowonly working 20-30 hours a week THANKS TO OUR SUCCESS WITH PREMIER!!!!
And all of that being said, The reason why Premier is the best kept secret around is that You won't hear too many people talk about the money in Premier. They truly do put People and Serving Others First!!! That is where true success and joy begins!
Good luck in your decision and let us know if you join the family.

Hi,
I use to rep for Lia Sophia, over 1 yr. ago. I really liked their Jewelry & pay benefit. I really didn't do much with it due to my Cosmetic business took alot of my time. I would like to rep for Lia Sophia or maybe another Jewelry Co. or Gourmet Co. with low start-up (under $75) Any sign on SPECIALS?, No or low quotas. All inputs welcomed.
Thanks,
Tricia

Tricia, hi! I'm with Latasia Jewelry. I'm willing to work with ladies that are ready to work a business to get it off to a good start. If you are ready to get going with something and are willing to do 5 parties within 45 days of getting your kit I can work with you to get your kit for free. My phone number is 318-567-1510 and I'll be available all day Thursday. Please give me a call and I can go over everything with you.
Latasia offers fashion jewelry backed by a lifetime guarantee. We have no quotas for regular Designers and we earn 40% of our sales up front, no paycheck to wait on. BUT, once you sell your first $1500 you KEEP 50% of your sales up front from then on, still, no quotas. The only time those come into play are when you start team building and those are so minimal one party a month will cover them. You can view my site by clicking on the link in my signature. We only have a little over 700 Designers so the growth potential is HUGE. Those of us getting started now and building our teams will be at the top of the company in a couple years. It feels good to know for certain that's where I'll be if I keep working my business like I am now.
I hope to get to talk with you tomorrow about Latasia. Not many have heard of us because we are so small but we are definitely worth taking a few minutes to find out about!! Hope you have a blessed night and I wish you all the best!!!

Hermosa Sterling is a great new jewelry company thatoffers quality and affordable 925 sterling and natural stone jewelry. We have a very generous hostess benefit and offer 25% commission on retail sales for our reps. Customers can also order over the website, which is very convenient! And customer service is awesome.
I just started a month ago and I have had a great response to the jewelry. Everyone loves it!
Check out our many unique designsin sterling silverat www.hermosasterling.com (http://www.hermosasterling.com)

I would definitely check into the consultant services from the company
as well. Plus, look into how often party orders have backorders. This
can be a huge problem when you are doing orders that need to meet
deadlines such as gift giving, weddings etc. I had a distasterous
experience in a jewelry company that involved a customer's wedding!
I believe Cookie Lee is the only cash and carry or are there more?

Premier Designs can be Cash and Carry if you choose to do it that way. It is up to the individual jeweler. I offer both...they can order out of the catalog or they can take the piece home tonight. Most people choose to order, but sometimes a lady might need it immediately.
I agree with the concerns you have brought up. You must have good company services in order to run a business.
Premier's shipment time is about 7 days.
If something will be on backorder for a period longer than 2 weeks they put it on "Temporary Stop Sell" so that no customer ever has to wait more than 2 weeks for their purchase.
Our Customer Service department is manned by live people not by computers...I have never been on hold (while being transfered to the proper department) for more than 3 minutes.
Not only that, but our orders are hand picked and individually packaged for each customer. Very few mistakes and no sorting out orders by the hostess or the jeweler.
These issues can cause you to lose your good reputation within a group of women. And in this kind of business, reputation is what will make or break you.

I work with Jewels by Park Lane and I find it pretty easy to work with. The jewelrypicson the website does not give it justice 'cause I was told from my upline they took pics of the pics in the catalog. But anyone who sees it in person is always bowled over. I also get compliments from customers at the restaurant I work in. With a $500 starter party (so, easy to acheive), 6 party line up, and a $25 registration fee and $5 for insurance and transportation-you can sign your agreement. That is literally $33 out of pocket expense to start and get a kit valued over $1000. After I input your starter party, with agreement in hand, and the $33; you will get your shipped kit. With your second partyhaving been completed with your kit, is the point when I spent another $50 expense to "buy" the order on line privilege. So, literally to start rockin and rolling I only spent $83 in increments to feel likea %100 like I was in business. As well anything over $500in your starter party you get as commission, So... you can payfor the website online ordering fee from your first party commission overage (of the kit purchase credit). You see the company %100 sponsors this transaction, not me. The customer and hostess specials are endless to the point where I can hardly remember them all.JBPL is a VERYgenerous company and I can only have admiration for them in that they match your steps to success with many rewards to the director (consultant). Feel free to pm with any questions.smileys/smiley1.gif

So how are you going with it?
I hope it is a great success. What have you learned this year with the new business?
For me I've been really happy with the success of the earring holders (http://www.creativelybelle.com/stands) as they are so necessary for displaying jewelry to the best effect.
I'd love to hear how it's going!

I am not a consultant with any Jewelry Company, but I just wanted to give my opinion on Jewels by Park Lane. I went to a Jewels by Park Lane party last night, my sister was the host. I have to tell you that this jewelry is beautiful, I was so very impressed, everyone there was commenting on how beautiful it was. It was so much fun that I am going to be hosting a party in september. The pictures in the catalog and the website does not give it justice, you have to see this beautiful jewelry in person to really appreciate it.

Space Pea- If you will PM me again, sorry about the box being full, or email me at kkandrod@hughes.net I will get all your questions answered and get a packet of information, including the catalogs, out to you immediately.
As far as how we do our parties, we keep them simple and fun! I'm usually at my parties for 2 hours but my work is usually done within 15-20 minutes besides taking orders. I have a document on my computer that I can email you that goes over our entire compensation plan from the very first level all the way to the top level of the company.
The ladies in Canada are utilizing selling at booths at events, doing an event every month that everyone they meet that isn't interested in hosting their own party but loves the jewelry is invited to, home parties and many other avenues. We can set up a 3 way call with our VP to go over all the different ways you can work Latasia in Canada. Between her and me, you will get lots of ideas, training and help. Plus, they are now doing conference calls regularly for the Canada ladies too which will help you tremendously.
I look forward to talking with you and again, I'm sorry for the PM box being full. Have a great day!!!

Space Pea ~ I have not done one yet since the GemStyle launch is this weekend and we get our kits then but in my mind I have it worked out to be short and sweet... a little info on me, a little company info, a little product inf, a hostess plug, a recruiting plug and then maybe something interactive like a try on or show and tell type thing where everyone picks there favorite piece and tells why or what they'd wear it with etc. More talking and interacting...I noticed YEARS ago when I did Pampered Chef and did the whole cooking thing that the guests more than likely want to talk and chat not listen to me for an hour or more! LOL
