I was looking for some input. I am a WLC rep (love it) and just joined Southern Style Gourmet. I already put together gift baskets, but thought that maybe Banana Nut bread mix, Banana nut candle, body butter..all wrapped up in a colorfu foil pan would go over well..what do you think??

As an outside buyer, I would say yeah!! I love baskets that have the similar themes!

Thanks!! :) I did not know if people (buyers) would think it was too much or would think it was a good gift buy. I also persoanlly love to buy things like that for holidays/bdays.

Lisa,

Hey there! I think combining the two companies is a great idea. Packaging like items together is wonderful. Do you sell bread mixes and soup? I would package some of them together for people to make bread bowls and then add a nice candle to "set the mood" while they enjoy a relaxing evening together. smileys/smiley2.gif

When I buy gifts for my grandmother, I always look to food. She's so hard to buy for and really has everything she needs at 84. So food is always a hit. She also loves lotions - so the combination in a basket would be nice.

One more thing - make sure the scents from the candles and lotions don't sit next to the food items for too long. I'm not sure if they would absorb the odors or not. I haven't seen the packaging for the food items.

Yes, be very cautious with this! No matter what the packing of the food, scented candles and bath/body products will most times seep(sp?) into the food. Our candles (Our Family Favorites)are shrink wrapped in plastic so the scent doesn't seep out but for those candles and other products that are not tightly wrapped it's always a possibility.

Cute ideas though!

I do that very same thing in my gift basket business! I used
Gabby Goodies Apple Steusal Muffin Mix with Our Family Favorites Candy
Apple Candle and Gabby Apple Pie Coffee! I also have a Blueberry and
Lemon themed basket too with similar items. Those kinds of baskets
are really fun to put together and they are great sellers. Good
luck with yours!

Thanks ladies for all the great ideas..and for the heads up. I know that with alot of our/your companiescandles they are very highly scented and that would be somethign to be considered. I thought of using pieces of themed tissue or baking paper to sepaate all items. :)

You could always wrap you candle in a pretty printed cello bag too and
then add it to your basket to help separate the scent from the food
items. I have done that before too.

Good tip Cheryl. I too have wrapped my candles in a cello bag and tied raffia on it so it would be separate from the food.

Best wishes,

Well actually when I got to thinking about it..lol..duh I really have no need to wrap it..I will be using a jar candle and not a votive..so really the paper would only be for decor and not for taste or seep reasons. :)
